No. Campain and mutliplayer units ought to have the same stats so as to not confuse anyone who playes one or the other then switches. If you play the campains for multi-player training, but with difrent stats then that is bad training. Definatly a violation of the KISS principle.

You could for example create a new set of units that uses the old units as base, but that adds unbalanced features, that values the ability to level up higher, etc..
Yeah, and then you'd have at least two versions of the same unit in the game with different stats or abilities. I don't think it needs to be pointed out why that'd be a bad thing.

I think it is very important to have balanced units in campaigns for the sake of variety. If units are badly balanced, there is a greater risk that the best strategy is to focus on only few units that are slightly overpowered while entirely ignoring other units. This quickly makes the campaign pretty boring .

Really, it doesn't make a lick of sense to talk about campaign unit balance at all. A campaign can be balanced with almost any combination of unit stats, balanced or unbalanced, but the more balanced the stats are for MP the more fun the campaign will be.

We all know that there isn't going to be a change of this nature happening any time soon.

Let's all move on, for the reasons mentioned above. :eng:
