Ah, OK, I get it now. You mean the synth sounds on the keyboard, gotcha. A VSTi is a software instrument so you had me a little confused there for a while. :)

Now, if you can hear a grand piano sound, that is most likely the synth itself. In order to switch sounds you will, I believe, need to insert program change/bank select messages into REAPER. I honestly don't think there's a better way of doing it right now; REAPER's midi support still leaves a lot to be desired.

What synth do you have? And BTW, when you say "keyboard" do you mean it's one of those thingies with built-in speakers and such?

Yes, thats exactly what I mean. You can use it without a computer using the built-in speakers. It is a YAMAHA PSR-260. The samples aren't the best, but they're not bad either.


Now I'm the confused one... :roll: what do you mean, "insert program change/bank select messages it reaper"?

Got it! All I had to do was add an fx to the track. Thanks for all the help :) I think I'm going to let this topic die now, and start composing!
