Higher Game wrote:Undead sure are vicious, though. Like the Northerners, they have the first night attack advantage. Unlike the Northerners, they don't get weak over time, due to low quality units. In fact, when they get a "critical mass" of dark adepts, they seem to get even stronger over time! They enjoy two great level 0's as well. The zombies are cheap power with no upkeep and a good chance of getting killed and replaced on the spot, and the vampire bat is probably the game's best scout.

Since there's a new version I read about that has the dark adepts no longer getting the strong trait, it looks like they will be even more dangerous in the future. Even though the factions are pretty well balanced, the undead seem to have a psychological advantage. It's very fitting.
If Dark Adepts don't do any melee damage regardless of a strong trait, then why would they be more dangerous? Besides, the psychological part is all YOU. If you feel a bit queasy when fighting certain factions, it's up to you to quell your nerves.

DA's do melee damage when they promote, so Strong would still be useful - just not initially. However, maybe not as useful in multiplayer where most DA's never promote.

what he means is that in the future dark adepts wont be able to have to Strong trait because it is just about useless for them.

this frees the trait up for resilient, intelligent, or quick.

Not really, it depends on how you play it.

Undeads are generally frowned upon because they are not easy to master, and in many campaigns, they are the bad guys.

On the other hand, loyalists represent humans, and they are looked upon as the 'good guys'.

maybe people have replays to prove me differently?
Undeads have beaten loyalists before.

Most people think that HI and mages are what should make the bulk of their army when fighting undeads.
HI can however be easily countered by DAs, and even mages too.

IMO these are the only lvl 1 loyalist units that are useful against undeads, and both of them can be countered.

Oh, please. You're acting just like every other I-think-I'm-awesome-new-player who comes on here and makes sweeping statements about factional balance.

Give us all a break and break the cycle! Tell yourself that your knowledge of this game is just about zero at this point in your career, and that you will need a lot of time to really understand the more intricate aspects of the game.

If you want to see a great player (as undead) beat another great player (as loyalist), take a look in our replay archive. It's game 7 of the final round of the last tournament.

Read the stickies first. They contain 90% of the questions you may ask. After that, post =)
