But income is money that you're gaining and upkeep is money that you're losing. Also, I didn't realize Slainte had already created some icons for these on the Wiki page. His are 15x15 instead of 15x30 like mine, but are otherwise very similar. I don't know which ones are prefered though.

Waouh,

It looks crazy how this game is growing fast :P
This is just a message to thank all the coder, graphist and musician, as after many hours playing the same level (as I'm a french translator, I verify the translation regularly), I still enjoy the game and even more at each release!

Thanks all, and keep on the good work!

Hey, I know what income is.
I just feel that arrow pointing up is pointing "out" and arrow down is pointing "inside", like towards me.

Well, I simply see it this way :]

An arrow down fells like your stacking the cash, an arrow up feels like they're flying away, those mde me confused. Swap the colors and they're great.

Ahhh, I see. I had more of a stock market symbol in mind when I did the Icons. Perhaps we should use Slainte's set since they are much less ambiguous, however I do think these 2 icons would benefit greatly from using the whole15x30 space.

Svetac mentioned everyone making their images transparent so that he could correct the shadows. After playing the CVS, I think the final images would look better transparent. The brown frame doesn't match anything in the GUI at all. And if the GUI is to become themeable later on, transparent weapon icons would be much more useable.

Miyo: That just further proves my point :) and WOW things are movin' fast.
methinks wrote:I would swap tehe icons and colours in icons. That is upkeep = arrow down and arrow is green ;) othwerwise good. Good enough ot be put in CVS, no need to work on that one anymore :)
Ok, I swapped the icons, but to me Green should still stand for making
money and red for losing money so I kept the colors the same. How are these?

BTW, I think I screwed up and put these in the wrong thread. But since we've already started disccuing them here, might as well keep goin'.

I thought the one with "income" being up made more sense. Maybe rotate the arrows 90 degrees? (so "income" goes left, towards the money; "upkeep" goes right, away from it)

I like these better than the 15x15 ones -- those are so tiny and crowded I can't even make out what they're supposed to represent.

I liked the small pictures thing with the pi/4 angel on the upkeep arrow, looked like the money flew away, but I agree that the bigger ones are better.

Ok, how about these 45 degree ones? They are the same direction as the 15x15s. I can do 90 degree ones as well if you guys think they'd be the best.

Went ahead and did the 90 degree ones. I think these may be the least ambiguous.

Now when I think about it I say that the arrows pointing right is better, there's no way you can misunderstand those even if you try. Hope you hadn't had a hard time turning those arrows for me ;)

I like diagonal the best. You may try adding small '+' and '-' so noone would misunderstand ;)

Anyway, nice job.
