Much better, obviously, perharps the reflexion of the light on the blade is just a little too bright, and the handle is just a little too dark.
I'm happy with it and if there is no improved version with your permission i'll use this for the Outlaw Brigand sickle attack in the Extended Era.

...please remember that "IT'S" ALWAYS MEANS "IT IS" and "ITS" IS WHAT YOU USE TO INDICATE POSSESSION BY "IT".--scott
this goes for they're/their/there as well

None, as of yet. We're deliberately making icons for some attacks that aren't used in mainline. If they really, truly are of mainline-quality, we'll include them in case someone needs something like them for their custom campaign/era/whatever.Syntax_Error wrote:btw, what attack is Chakram.png used for?
It's the best place to store an archive of extra icons; there are plenty floating around that _aren't_ mainline quality, and thus are not in there, but having the good ones there is a way to prevent duplication of content, and to save people the trouble of looking for said content.

The one problem I see with this is that most attack icons are directed to attack to the right, and usually down, although some ranged attack appear to be aimed a little more upward. This standard makes the scythe look like it is attacking with the shaft. A simple flip left to right fixes the horizontal direction, but I am not sure that it will solve the up/down issue. Basically, you want the viewer to feel like the weapon is aimed out of the screen.battlestar wrote:Took in the suggestions, made some adjustments, wonder if it looks better and what else is to be improved.
@ Syntax_Error: yeah you can use it if you want.

Here are some more icons. A crossbow for death knights, elven magic web for sylps (I noticed it is currently using spider web icon) and revised elven great sword.
If someone wants some specific icon files of mine, just PM. I'm not the best guy to explain things but I'm willing to give out my working files.

- same color theme with undead battle axe -> IMO fits perfectly for the death knight.

pekka you are a miracle worker. really. good job on the web and crossbow.
but about the elven greatsword, imo the curved thing would better fit exactly in the middle of the blade rather than on the dark side. also, the white "spark" looks like a smudging error, i dont know why, but it doesnt fit in that place. also, the shape of the handle is weird, if it was thicker then maybe the sword wouldnt look so anime.

Spells stylized would be really sweet. Like, a "symbol" such as a "spellbook symbol" representing the spell, instead of the look of the attack itself?
Although, emm, that "stylised" spell looks a bit... Dull to me. Nice try though, I'm sure that can lead to some ideas, for people who like the style of it; its different from many Attack buttons found in Wesnoth, after all.
Zebulon: 1 word: pirate. If you're, or someone's gonna make a pirate faction / campaign, thats the sword pic for them
If you want a normal sword, I rather make it more straight(at the top of it, I mean).
PS: I'm not, in any way possible, some kind of amateur / expert art maker, I'm just trying to help you with my own opinion about the picture.
I'm sorry I cant comment with more of an artmaker's point of view, such as more technical(I think) issues.
