Re: Vranca´s sprites
Yea I would like to help if can, I like the idea of a spartan faction. I always loved playing the lavanians in the imperial era and they are based on the roman empire I believe. I only just recently started playing with The GIMP (lol funny every time), so I'm not some amazing graphical artist, but I can make sprites and won't hand over something that looks like trash.
Re: Vranca´s sprites
Well how about you try something like this or this and we´ll see how it goes
EDIT:They are sopose to be persian lv1 spearman so don´t make them too big or too small(something like default spearman is good).

The Spartan ephors:"If."
Subsequently, both Philip and Alexander would avoid Sparta entirely.

Re: Vranca´s sprites
Hows this for a start? Any tips on how I can make it look better and make proper shadows are appreciated.
I lined the shoulders and waist up with the loyalist spearman somewhat so his stance is pretty similar, but does he look too small? do I need to make him taller? The magenta (i think thats the colors name), stripes on him are team colored. I also am going to give him meaner eyes and I think he would look more "arab" if his tunic was recolored to the same color as his headpiece.

Re: Vranca´s sprites
It´s pretty good, but the shield arm doesn´t look like it´s relaxed and he looks like he is looking south instead south-east.
The main issue is that you seem to be using lots of different shades of one color and that isn´t supposed to be used. I´ll make a new thread for the era art so could someone move his post in there?

Re: Vranca´s sprites
1. His left (our right) hand is constantly stationary. Why?
2. No leg movement at all. Or cape movement, even though he's bobbing.
3. Looking closely, there's actually a spearshaft behind his right (our left) leg, which doesn't move and gives the general impression of a bendy shaft, which looks bad.

So he's that bad......what's he doing?

He's should look like he's breathing, but it's my first attempt to try animating so i guess it's not any good.

I am also doing this sprite based on this image:
