The wiki that almost no one notices
Hello, I'm gonna write about the Wesnoth wiki, since I feel that I am the only one who's updating it - the latest topic being "Northern Rebirth" dialogue - while almost all the other users activities last in early 2010s.
Can someone else help updating BfW wiki to the present day? https://wiki.wesnoth.org/StartingPoints

Re: The wiki that almost no one notices
I've read the wiki. Having a complete timeline of Wesnoth history is especially cool and campaign dialogues are nice! I don't know how often it needs to be updated, but I appreciate any and all effort you've put into it.

Re: The wiki that almost no one notices
I edit the wiki occasionally; my starting point is usually the ReferenceWML page since that's what I usually use it for (as a reference for working on the WML of UMC). If you check the Recent Changes page you'll see that it does in fact still get a few edits per day.

Re: The wiki that almost no one notices
I try to help maintain and update wikipedia in regards to some articles that I
feel need improvement. Mostly just via comments, but about 1 out of 100
changes I also make on main articles. I tend to comment my changes in
the discussion-page.
I never used the wesnoth wiki. I have no idea whether I even could modify
it. Having a unified login would be very nice, e. g. I log in here, and could
then also modify the wiki (perhaps past a threshold of posts or something).
Someone could add a link called "Wiki" on the very top. Many people won't
bother to search for it, so having it appear on top menu here on the forum
can also help. Raising the barrier of entry is in general not a good idea -
you will lose out on potential contributors.

Re: The wiki that almost no one notices
A long time ago, the wiki used to allow anyone to edit pages, but unfortunately that resulted in a huge amount of spam. Now it is necessary follow the wiki account registration instructions here.
Re: The wiki that almost no one notices
Any idea if there are plans to put in Winds of Fate events into the timeline?

Re: The wiki that almost no one notices
There are plans, but actually I have been trying to first catch up on the interesting point you raised regarding the same area of the timeline and the backstory for Legend of Wesmere. Presumably, there will be some overlap between the drakish and orcish invasions but most of the orcs will arrive in the wake of the drakes, possibly exploiting the gaps left in the local races' defenses.
Re: The wiki that almost no one notices
Im making a bit of a deal out of it as I did a UMC about the orcish invasions, so for me that time period is critical and I need to know how to make everything as accurate as possible.

Re: The wiki that almost no one notices
One thing I might mention about the timline also, it talks of Dan'Tonk being founded after the orcs plunder the coastline. After the events of Winds of Fate, it would seem the coast was getting slammed constantly by drakes well before the orcs were heading south, so maybe that part of it will need to get revised, that area would have been abandoned pretty fast given what the drakes did to it so I doubt orcs would've had much to plunder
