I already warned that hard mode would be very difficult, the difficulty there isn't going to change. I suggest moving down a difficulty level if the second scenario is too much. Interesting. I passed the first scenario in 6 turns on Hard, but the next scenario seems impossible to me after two attempts. Even with 250 gold. I tried wih recruiting Dusk Faeries using all my money - they seems most effective on this map. Still that is not enough. That lvl2 skirmisher Windlasher ...

The add-on World Conquest II (now called World Conquest) has been added to mainline Wesnoth. World Conquest is a coop multiplayer campaign of 5 scenarios for 1-3 players. It features highly randomized maps for replayability as well as custom item and training systems. Just where it is??? Cannot see...

For my that Sylph description was clear reminiscense of elder female elvish sage from Arcanum game. She was called Silver Lady. From Quintarra. She indeed existed in two words. it is strange you use attributes different compared with mainline. Consider this: Real flying foxes have a 1.6-meter wingspan, so they are probably similar in size to Wesnoth bats.
