Thanks for the ideas. I was thinking of making both of the factions mostly mounted. I am trying to find a way to have a mounted unit that loses a certain amount of health lose his horse. He would then have less HP and less movement, but could mount another horse at a village or the camp. Im not sure...

Whats wrong with units moving through trees? If you need to create some kind of barrier because of the FoW, then simply create a new terrain, maybe "Dense Forest" that units can't pass through.

I definitely like RPGs. I like a main character that is very dynamic. Lots of leveling options... very customizeable. It would be awesome if you really took the time to create a complex main character. (eventhough it isnt KISS...) Weapons and armor would be pretty cool. I enjoyed Wesband. though it ...

Is there a way to have one unit inflict damage upon several other adjacent units? I want to have a unit have an area attack and inflict damage on all surrounding units. Can someone help me?

this sounds like a pretty cool idea. however, i think the effects might be a little drastic. I think if you simply changed both the time of day and moral effects to maybe 15-20%, it would add some more variables to gameplay without really screwing things up.

How can i use the [advancement] tag to change a units defend animation? I'm assuming i should use the [effect] tag, but i cant seem to get it to work...

the KNOCKBACK ability

i am new to wml and was looking arround on the site. im creating a unit and wanted to include this ability. the macro was listed on the site, but i am somewhat macro illiterate. can some one show me an example of how to use this?
