Re: Improved resistance/defense/movement tables in unit prof

I made some other changes above, once I realized movement and defense are already in one table.

Re: Improved resistance/defense/movement tables in unit prof

What about UMCs which have resistance values and defense values in between increments of 10 (like 53% fire resistance or 61% defense on flat)? Hmm...if one chose with the 'star rating' approach to visualization, I would suggest that we just round half-up, i.e. 4 or less rounds down, five or more ro...

Re: Improved resistance/defense/movement tables in unit prof

I think ingame display is pretty clear, but maybe because i'm used to it... Improvement could be done in a simple way by mixing movement and defense in one table. Plus, it will take less place in description, making it easier to read. Hum, it's already done ... Edited to remove that suggestion. I h...

Re: Rain of Steel (art)

I really like the story line possibilities of a colony using, but not fully understanding, a superior technology devised by the ancients. This sounds like a fun era!

[interface] Improved stat tables in unit profile

Proposed idea: Improve the readability of the unit profile screen by changing the resistance/defense/movement tables to a more readable, graphical format. Background: Understanding differences between units is obviously important to good play. The unit profile does a great job of describing a unit'...

Re: Wesnoth for chessplayers - with parameter Random Set Off

It might help your cause if you could simplify this to something that could be explained in one short paragraph. Although I'm not a fan of your idea, I did wonder why you simply didn't propose: - An option which would remove the effect of chance. Attacking units would hit with *exactly* the normal f...

Re: Scenario 1: Rooting out a Mage

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on? Hard, 1.8.5 (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 4. I recruited a few footpads as fodder for the skeletons. I pushed all non-mounted units into the western forest, and sent three horsemen north to the top an...

Re: Random or Pseudorandom?

I wonder if this is just a matter of how you are thinking about the problem. I'll assume you do have a good understanding of probability, as you've said. Let's think about a typical campaign, using very generalized figures as a basis: * 15 scenarios * A typical scenario length of 15 turns * A typica...

Re: logic for multiple reactionary attacks???

I think that Wesnoth combatants follow a strict code of honor, and attack in turn, just like the villains in Kung-Fu movies. :)

Statistics for current map?

Often I find myself wondering, 'did I lose any units yet?' This is especially true when I restore from a save point after I haven't played in a while. The existing statistics tables don't give me this information, unless I'm missing something.
