Is anyone running 1.4 on Mandriva 2008?

Hi all,
I am having a problem described in that thread: http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=20237
and I was wondering if anyone has tried BfW 1.4 in a similar setup, to try and see what the problem could be.

I tried the official package, but it is only provided for the development version of the distribution (Cooker), and I am running a stable version (2008). It requires a more recent version of boost than the standard one on 2008, so I uninstalled boost and try to compile the newer one. Now the fun sta...

stderr.txt is a file that should be created in the folder containing the game when you run it. It may contain helpful error messages.
