Thanks, Redeth. That looks awesome.

Human Pack 8.0!

Redeth is awesome.

I've been fiddling with Paint.net, and I might actually try Gimp again.... I always had trouble with Gimp's interface, but I'm not getting much further with Paint.net..... Whenever I try to put one element next to another, it gets overlaid with grey squares.... (I'm using the rectangular selection tool, since I don't trust my own precision to use the lasso tool, and experimentation with the same, as well as the magic wand, has been ugly.)

After the 15th I'll have more time to fiddle, but this week and next I'm going to be busy with Quizzes and Finals.

You need to put it into another layer. pdn has this [censored] concept where areas of transparency are actually opaque on the same layer. So keeping every different element on its own layer is the best thing to do.

There are only two reasons to use the gimp on Windows: you're an alpha geek who likes playing with GTK, or you need colour-to-alpha (one of the most incredible tools ever). For anything else pdn wins hands down, and is going to get better faster (gimp's maintainers wouldn't know usability if it continually harrassed them in the street for ten years).

OK, thanks. That solves my main problem in dealing with Paint.net. I'll use that to finish off the banner I'm making....

EDIT: One more issue.... In order to recolour the TC pixels, do I just go over them pixel by pixel with appropriate shades of the new colour, or is there a better way?

I think Redeth already split the mounts... Perhaps all available mounts (wolves, lizards, horses, etc) should be released in a single Need for Steed pack.... Please note that I didn't make that up. Someone at SJ Games did. But it fits.

I probably shouldn't further this dream, but here they are anyway.

Feel free to PM me if you start a new terrain oriented thread. It's easy for me to miss them among all the other art threads.

Can I make stuff up for the hack pack (franken-pack sorry), or does it all have to be from Default?

If you make stuff up, we'll call it a Bonus pack..... I want, for now, to keep all default factions/races separate until they've all been completed.

And here it is, right in time to celebrate the new year!

ps: some of them can hardly be considered ridable units, like the spiders, the seal or the little pig and rat, but they were too cool to be left out. :P
