my quest is:
why not port for symbian?:)the new symbian phones (s60 5th ) its enought good for wesnoth and i think if succes porting the quake 1, 2 ,3 for symbian the wesnoth is not impossible.
the screen quest... i think in 640x360 enought for wesnoth.
the control... i dunno the iphone solutions but i think the map scrolling in map around and with green:left red:right volumeup: up volumedown: down keys easy and good:)
i need for my mobile its my best game:)

Re: BfW vs mobile devices
Whenever the question is "why not port?" the answer is always "manpower". Wesnoth is fortunate enough to have a fair number of skilled coders who volunteer on the project, but porting is simply far more work than continuing to develop the PC codebase, and the more different the platform, the more the work involved.
It took Kyle Poole - a highly skilled coder - 6 months of full-time work to port Wesnoth to the iPhone, and another 2-3 months to get the game stable. The iPhone runs primarily on Objective C, which is a cousin of the C++ used in Wesnoth, and the iPhone itself contains a fairly powerful processor.
To port to an entirely different coding language, such as Java, would be an order of magnitude harder, and the variety of phones on the platform could make for a support nightmare. Remember, we're dealing with volunteer coders here, not a paid development staff - the harder the job, and the less visible the gains, the less likely someone is to take a project up.

Split. Now you have your own thread to work in, and when if you finish we can move this to User's Forum. And, please... don't bump threads that are two years old without a good reason (i.e. real work to show).
