Several of our mainline campaigns are in the works for upgrades at the moment, which includes adding characters and enhancing existing scenarios. We are looking for more artwork to supplement these upgrades, including the following:

As mentioned in the Wesnoth 1.14.4 release announcement, all previous Wesnoth versions including Lua scripting support are affected by a security vulnerability which potentially allows a malicious party to execute arbitrary code through the Lua engine by using specially-crafted code in...

I created a .deb package of BFW 1.16.6 for my Raspberry Pi because flatpack doesn't necessarily support the arm architecture (and it takes a lot of space). Can I distribute it with the label wesnoth-unoficial or is it illegal?
While 1.16.4 does exist as well, it was quickly replaced by 1.16.5 after a bug was discovered that caused frequent crashes when playing online multiplayer. It is therefore recommended that anyone who downloaded 1.16.4 upgrade to 1.16.5.
Otherwise, this is a regular maintenance release for the...

1. Is it useful to enable link-time optimizations (LTO) when building?
2. Is it _safe_ to enable LTO when building?
3. Why is executable hardening enabled when building? Why do I need hardened executables?

I have 1.16 installed via flatpak as the stable branch. When 1.16.1 came out I did a flatpak update as root and it installed and updated a few things including 3 Mb of update from 1.16 to 1.16.1.
However when I ran the new program it was still 1.16.0. What happened?
I just looked and it has the 1.16.0 version listed but the 1.14 branch that was setup last summer is not listed on the website. Both are listed via the command line flatpak. Has the 1.14 branch been supressed on the website to avoid confusing computer newbies?

are there any plans to release Battle for Wesnoth as appImage?
appImage is packaging format similar to flatpak except it also does not require installation and (typically) contains all its dependencies (except linux kernel and drivers) inside appimage file itself.
