I don't have replays. Maybe the problem is that I can't keep every unit alive while feeding exp to ideal targets in challenging campaigns. I want to see more variety in dwarf campaigns but I think this proposal is misguided. To me the central issue is that THoT isn't designed in a way that encourages the player to use a variety of units. Aside from ulfs, you don't use guardsmen and even thunderers are a bit lacking. Mage of light: I think his ranged damage is too high. He deals 12x3 at night and 15x3 at other times of day. This is close to the arch mage because the arch mage does not benefit from time of day. Some level 3 units units don't match the most recent stats (e.g. elvish outrider, elvish marshal, elvish avenger, human huntsman, human ranger) but I assume that's unintentional so I will post some comments on the lvl3 stat changes between 1.16 and https://units.wesnoth.org/trunk/mainline/en_US/main...

I meant the outlaw could choose to use blade or impact, like a dwarf fighter. That way blade-footpad could promote to it. But on second thought never mind, it's better to avoid changing more units. I don't think it's a big problem to begin with and I don't want to screw over the people playing the scenario normally, so it's probably fine to leave things as they are. Rather than a gamebreaking exploit I just think it's odd to gain gold in this scenario.
