Fate of Princess Part I Second Mission Help

Post by JakeCWolf »

Greetings,

This is my first time posting on the forums so I do hope this is the right place to post this, but as the title says I'm in need of help on the second mission of the first part of the Fate of a Princess Add-on Campaign, I am playing on easy.

I want to know how to get past both the dwarven and elven forces with out have to lose all my good units, no matter which way I take I'm overwhelmed, and when I try to use my heros to even the odds they are targeted relentlessly and I'm forced to withdraw them.

I tried making a run past the elven side of the river but the elf commander has gotten 2-3 castlefulls of troops to send at me before I even get there. Before this I tried to slug it out, thinking I didn't have to worry about the dwarves, (or the very least they would be hostile to the elves, but with no such luck) to find they crossed over the river and attacked me from both sides.

I'm extremely frustrated so any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Jake

Hi, welcome to the forums, JakeCWolf.
Posting it one on Scenario & Campaign Dev. forum is the right place in your case. (and it is the third mission. )

Going to the elves side and picking up the greenwood blade is the best strategy on the scenario. Horse units are defensively weak against the pierce attacks which are bow-attacks in this scenario, so you ought to be careful for it, especially Elvish Archer's one. The income for the elf side is very few (15 golds on EASY difficulty); on the other hand, Baldres can recruit many units. So if you can stand 2-3 turns at near the keep that you recruit/recall (before the dwarves get there), it won't be too difficult. I have tested all difficulty levels on the scenario. So you can complete the scenario on the next try.:)

But yes, the scenario you are playing has been one of the hardest scenarios in the entire campaign since the beginning (on BfW 1.6), and the campaign is not very easy one (I could say a harder intermediate level.) Hopefully, you will get some fun later on.
Thanks for playing it.

Are you really talking about Part I? Because i am playing this campaign's beginning and i have a lot of trouble of 2nd mission of part 1, except that it has only humans.

Anyway, i do not feel like creating another thread for my problem. Is it okay to reload on this scenario? Because i have A LOT of trouble with this scenario, and my luck is at its lowest there! No matter what i do, i always end up somehow losing a loyal or a vital unit due to enemy hitting 8 times out of 8. No matter how i place my units, eventually i end up making a major blunder and losing a good unit i really don't want to lose and thinking "Holy crap, how could i have let that happen?! There's no way this should be happening!!!!!!!!"

Is there a way to prevent that? I'm thinking of using cavaliers as fodder instead of peasants...
