I can't create a multiplayer game with hardware firewall

Post by GrosBill »

A hardware firewall protect my local network. Anybody can't see a game that I'd created. But I can connect and play with a game created by another player, for all version of Wesnoth.
Do you know the network port (gate) used by Wesnoth ?

Thanks

What do you actually mean by 'game created by you' - you are talking about hosting a game with your client?

If you can use the official server, there is no need to host games with your client.

Launch Wesnoth -> multiplayer -> join official server -> create game

vs

Launch Wesnoth -> multiplayer -> host multiplayer game

Would this be what your looking for:
Wesnoth Manual (distr. w. game) wrote:You can host multiplayer game with your client or connect to wesnoth game server and setup your game there. If you host game with your client other players need to be able to connect your port 15000.
However, since I've never hosted a game like that, I'm cannot guarantee that the manual is up-to-date on this matter.

It is up to date. But if you can play your game on official servers I don't see need to host the game with your client.

Well, neither do I, but if it is possible and GrosBill wants to do it, then that's his problem!
