Map Editor Crashes
So I'm a wesnoth fan for couple years and versions but I've downloaded the new one recently and can't use the map editor. It shows loading and the hourglass cursor but then the screen just turns black and game crashes. I've windows 7 64bit and BoW 1.10.2 and it works just fine except for this issue. Thanks for any advice I really want to use the editor.

What does
stderr.txt
show? Do you have any add-ons installed? Have you tried removing them?Author of the unofficial UtBS sequels Invasion from the Unknown and After the Storm.

Re: Map Editor Crashes
Did this already happen in 1.10.1 ?
projects (BfW 1.12):
A Simple Campaign: campaign draft for wml starters • Plan Your Advancements: mp mod
The Earth's Gut: sp campaign • Settlers of Wesnoth: mp scenario • Wesnoth Lua Pack: lua tags and utils
updated to 1.8 and handed over: A Gryphon's Tale: sp campaign

It works! I removed the add-ons and now it work properly. Thanks very much

Re: Map Editor Crashes
It would be a good idea to check which specific add-on(s) caused the ‘crash’, nevertheless. The map editor should not be crashing only because an add-on (with potentially invalid WML) is installed. This is also why I’m interested in the contents of

Re: Map Editor Crashes
I had the same problem with 1.10.2 but solved it by rightclicking on the editor shortcut and start it as admin. If you do so, it runs well, also with add-on(s).
I think that is a specific problem with Windows 7. If you modify something in an installed program, you sometimes only can start it with admin rights. The same problem I had with the game Legend of Grimrock after I modified it with the Post Process Injector.
