Toy Soldiers Faction

I created a small faction for Neorices possessed Toy Soldiers: viewtopic.php?t=44751&start=15 perfect for the christmas time

Credit:

Version 0.9.0: First upload (soonish, if you cant see it on the addon server)

Hi! This faction sounds fun and very mobile. I only played one AI match, so I can't comment on balance.

Impressions and opinions:
I liked hiding my soldiers in towns, they are also surprisingly sturdy for a lvl 0 unit.
Flying around with the kite and taking villages was also fun, although I wonder if giving them skirmish makes them overpowered.
The Man of the Moon's sacrifice attack sounds interesting.
I have the gut feeling that there is some overlap between unit roles. But I guess this is something that gets clarified over time.

I have noticed some bugs though:
* Twin Bears can't advance to Bear Trio
* Possessed Bear (lvl 2) advances to Teddy Bear (lvl 2), but I believe Terror Bear (lvl 3) was the intended advance.
* Marionette Doll should be lvl 2
* Marionette Hero should be lvl 3
* all final units should have Required XP, so they can achieve AMLA: The Lost Child, Marionette Justaposer, Miniature Captain, Miniature Longbows, Miniature Spearwall, Triple Bears, Twin Bears.
(Apart from something people expect, it is also important for any mods that extend AMLAs or allows units to buy skills using XP.)
* This is more of an opinion, but I expected that most leaders can advance to lvl 3: The Lost Child, Clown.

Wishlist:
* Can we also have Possessed Doll (lvl 2) and Teddy Bear as leader options? (In fact, is there a reason to not allow any lvl 2 units?)

Are you okay with me fixing the bugs and then sending you the changes in some way?

(If you would have a git repo somewhere, it would be ideal, but I can just edit the downloaded addon, and send it to you.)

Hello dragonfi,

first of all thank you for this feedback, I see what I can do about it.
  • Twin Bear advancement will be added
  • Possessed Bear should be a standalone lvl 2 unit like the javelineer
  • Marinette Doll will be lvl 2
  • Marionette Hero will be lvl 3
  • Added to all final units advances_to=null and {AMLA_DEFAULT}, this should add the AMLA. Those units did have Required XP, is just wasnt showing.
  • In the past the Lost Child had custom AMLAs, I removed them for now, until I can finalise them. Preferable with a custom sprite and not just an AMLA.
Wishlist, can be considered. I just used two addons to craft this faction. Heroes (1.15 addon server) from Kwandulin, here he laied the groundworks for this faction, I copy pasted a lot from him. Here he had only the two said leaders, the Marionette Knight is new from me. I also reworked some animations, added/reworked some sprites and units. The second addon was Castle of Evil Spirits (1.16 addon server). This addon I only used for this https://units.wesnoth.org/1.16/Castle_o ... %20spirits to see all the advancements and stats at a glance.
To you request, I believe the Faction needs a "spiritual" leader, so a possessed Doll makes sense, aswell as the teddy bear. Someone can agrue the possessed bear aswell, but it has 7 mp, so it is kinda too quick for a leader.

Update 0.9.1 is up.
