After returning from the great war, the troll Trog realized how different he was from his kin. With his extensive battle experience behind him and his impressive hammer in his hands, he decided to reshape the life of the tribe in his own way.

I think the campaign underdelivers regarding needing to pay attention to traits and economy. Likely because trolls have no varied recruit list.
Also, the first two scenarios stack the map in favour of the player, so there is not much to do.

The dwarves are the first enemy the trolls don't have clear answer for (dmg, because the steelclads have good resistances) and then the undead (Wraiths, it's only the Wraiths). Either you have enough ranged trolls when you encounter the undead, or you are dead.

(It might also just be the case that it's easier to disregard the economy if you play as two sides.)
