Just a thought on RNG
When playing online, it’s almost guaranteed that someone will complain about their “bad luck” — usually in comparison to their opponent’s “good luck”. Most often, this refers to the overall damage dealt and received. But it can also mean specific critical situations: an almost advanced unit dies or survives, a defensive line holds or collapses allowing follow-up kills, or a key unit dies to a low ctk (chance to kill)...
In this context, “luck” generally refers to the percentage difference between expected and actual damage inflicted and taken — visible via the in-game stats screen by pressing the “s”-Key. Players often summarize this with a statement like: “I’m at -20%,” meaning, for example, they inflicted +3% more than expected but took +23% more — a net negative of 20%.
Over many games, luck should statistically even out across all players.
To simplify, imagine rolling a d6 dice: evens (2, 4, 6) = good luck, odds (1, 3, 5) = bad luck. In the long run, it balances.
So why does it always seem like you’re the unlucky one?
In competitive play, top players rarely show frustration. They stay cool and that’s part of what makes them the best.

- it’s more common to remember bad over good luck
- Once you’ll become better than your average opponents, you’ll spend more time in games where your opponent is having luck. With improved skills you’ll start taking some opponents down, playing the grind game or at least hanging in for a bit longer. Whereas you’d have beaten them with their luck at a couple of turns before.

Uhh... No, you can't just add it, that's not how it works. And I have never seen someone do that.
A lot of people are not enjoying the game as much as they could if absurd RNG [censored] them over.llllllllllllllll wrote: ↑May 29th, 2025, 12:57 pm In the end, it doesn’t matter if you have more often bad or good luck — as long as you’re still enjoying the game.
I think you may be lacking in empathy if someone says "WTF, 70% 0/3" or "bruh -80% dealt this turn...", and you are annoyed by it instead of being like "yeah that sucks"llllllllllllllll wrote: ↑May 29th, 2025, 12:57 pm it can be annoying for your opponents to listen to your crying.
