Looking for advice on creating artwork for the Wesnoth Campaign

I am currently working on a campaign for The Battle for Wesnoth and need some advice on creating art assets. I am looking for the best techniques for Wesnoth style pixel art.

As it turned out, the OP was a spammer. We discovered this by a tiny spam link in their signature, plus their e-mail address had already been reported several times in StopForumSpam.
Therefore I'm locking this thread, since we didn't have a real user to begin with.
