World Conquest with AI Teammates

Hey guys,

I am pretty new to this game and have a question regarding setting up a local game with AI. I have stumbled upon a video, where a player starts a random 3p world conquest game, with the two other "players" being controlled by the AI. He just changed them from local player to Computer in the Setup-Screen. However, I am not able to make any changes there. The configuration is stuck in local player and the drop down menu is greyed out. Is there a way to still make this change?

Unfortunately, the video is quite old (2016). the world conquest mode was a distinct mod back then, but it is now included in the main vanilla game, as far as I understood. I hope this feature (playing with the AI) was not eliminated in that process.

When you start the game, you can set the controller of an Allied side to the AI...by typing droid on that side's turn
1. During that side's turn, press "M" which opens the message type box
2. type in droid
3. Press "Enter"/Return. There you go!
