The story of an uncommon Elvish Scout who prevent a big betrayal by an elvish Necromancy Cult.

original campaign named 'Scout' (Version 0.1.1 for BfW 1.2 by toms), playable

now, it is a part of The Dark Master project so if finished, the player will have an extra hero on The Dark Master

It is east not north. You probably passed just close to it when you followed the traitor.

The following has some spoilers; guess I will put it into spoiler section:

I am having some problem with scenario 3. First I played it at hard, I ran out of
time. I think it may have been possible to rush in with scout and champion and
kill the necrophage but it seemed to be only possible sometimes not other times
(because he so quickly recruits fodder units that block the path to him, and having
only two units takes too long to kill him)..

Then I played it on medium and still had no chance. I think the biggest problem
I have is that the big mud crawler spawns so many smaller units. These then
block the path. I tried to walk around to the right but this did not help that much.

I could try a few other things, such as suicide-rushing to the necrophage and
killing it, but I feel scenario 3 needs to be reworked a bit. Perhaps a few more
elven units that are close by when we help the guy; or on the left side of the
map, a few more forest tiles, next to the river side, to allow elven rangers
to be more durable there. I did not progress to scenario 5 because 3 was
already too hard.

Also, we seem to be able to stack multiple items? Perhaps that should not
work; not sure 10 bucklers can be carried and used by one unit.

I think the campaign is quite ok-ish as-such, just needs a bit tweaking and
more options for scenario 3, IMO. The ghouls are annoying too, but the
big mud crawlers are what really took down my army in the end. Perhaps
they should spawn one less unit or something.

By the way, is it intended that all northern support units die? Perhaps they
should be revealed the moment 4 undead are destroyed, then we can
rescue them. I had outcomes where they all died since they were
revealed when the computer moved, so they were in a vulnerable
position as-is..

Edit: What I mean with forest tiles on the left side is to perhaps make it possible
to also go in from the left side and use some forest tiles as cover, so perhaps
add 2 more rows on the left side of the map and put some forests in there.
This could perhaps give us a better alternative; we can go around on the
right side, or follow the road north, but there is lots of swamp which isn't
that great for ranger, so a few forest tiles and a slightly bigger map may be
useful. It won't solve the issue of mudcrawlers spawing so many units
but it would give us a bit more flexibility.

Can i tell you a secret at this scenario (don't laugh)?

killing the necrophage have nothing to do with wining. actually , it had been made to be killed by a hard chance. to win, you need only 2 things: killing the undeads and let the hero go to the signpost at his right. if the necrophage is killed, there will be no reason to split your heroes but if you did then you are really a stratagem

but if you insist, this how i won many times even on hard

i made my champion take the flat keep of the marshal after he leave and i hide my avenger on the forest tiles just close to my keep. then, every turn i recruit and i hide again . the enemy focus on my champion (ai parameters ) while my units sneak to him especially if i have a lot of rangers and riders. try this strategy. if it didn't work at all then i will consider make it easier

as for items, it is on testing phase and its chance to drop is only 10 % and so having 10 bucklers is really unlikely but if so, unfortunately i have lot of works at other campaigns and so focusing on the items to make them limited is really not a priority . i can make it more unlikely to drop but for now i can't prevent a unit from taking items more than once (and it isn't what i planned to do at the first place )

as for the escort units, they are here only to delay the enemies while undeads are close in case if the marshal not discovered very early (unlikely but it happened on my tests that the mud get very closer before the marshall is revealed which make the scenario harder). if you look close, you will find that every unit of them is carefully choosed to for this purpose (type, location ...). their is no point of trying to save them as this will make me run tests again to place them where they don't interfere with scenario lvl of difficulty .
you will get advanced units later on jail, so don't worry .
one more thing, you have no idea i m happy that you liked this campaign . i tested it more than any other campaign even my core campaign

if you win this campaign , your two heroes will join you at the campaign TDM, sc.03 precisely (this is why you get a ring but the unit who will bear it will not fight) , if not, y will get only one hero of them and he will weak at the same sc on TDM

Last Scenario is hard there is lot of enemies too much mudclawlers and low turn limits i don't know how to beat it.

I will admit you are playing well but you need to consider two things:
1- the importance of healers is critical. Personally, against undeads, I am willing to sacrifice any number of lvl1 units to save and advance a healer.
2- Don't send your leader like that especially in swamps! Never against undeads! This terrain is about trapping and snicking around. Built a good line of defense by lvl1 units with healers behind and, at the same time, send all lvl3 units -except your leader- around the mountain to kill the north east leader while taking all villages at the path (to recruit lvl1 to reinforce your defences) then the west leader. Try this out

The objectives are changing during the sc. from kill enemies leader to move to. If you killed the leader you will be rewarded of course.
The three units you are speaking about are not meant to survive anyway but you will get more powerful units two scenarios later
