Multiplayer Activity Report - 2022

This is the thread which will be used to provide the Multiplayer Activity Reports for 2022. These will be posted once per month, and currently contain the following information for games played over the previous month:
  1. The count of unique users.
  2. The count of unique users per day.
  3. The count of unique users per day per source.
  4. The count of unique users playing their first game online.
  5. The count of unique users playing their first game online by download source.
  6. The total count of games played.
  7. The count of games played per day.
  8. The count of users by where Wesnoth was downloaded from.
  9. The count of users by what version of Wesnoth was used.
  10. The count of games by the Era used.
  11. The count of games by the Era used and the version of the Era.
  12. The count of how many sides were assigned a particular faction. Custom means the side was given a custom recruit list rather than assigned a specific faction.
  13. The count of games by the Map used.
  14. The count of games by the Map used and the version of the Map.
  15. The count of games by Modification used.
  16. The count of games by Modification used and the version of the Modification.
  17. The count of the total number of games vs the count of games where OOS errors occurred.
  18. The count of OOS errors by the Era that was used.
  19. The count of OOS errors by the Era that was used and the version of the Era.
  20. The count of OOS errors by the Map that was used.
  21. The count of OOS errors by the Map that was used and the version of the Map.
  22. The count of OOS errors by Modification used.
  23. The count of OOS errors by Modification used and the version of the Modification.
  24. The count of OOS errors by the Era, Map, all Modifications used, and the version of each.
  25. A list of all games that encountered OOS errors by the Era, Map, and all Modifications used, with a link to the game's replay.
  26. A list of all games that encountered OOS errors by the Era, Map, all Modifications used, and the version of each, with a link to the game's replay.
The above information is currently attached and available by month for:
  • January
  • February
  • March
  • April
  • May
  • June
  • July
  • August
  • September
  • October
  • November
  • December

Not sure if I'm allowed to post here, you can just delete it if its clutering things up. I'd just like to express my appreciation for this particular bit of transparency and engagement regarding the state of Multiplayer and the game. That's all. :)

Does it seems to me or the number of players on multiplayer really dropped significantly compared to last year?
Or perhaps this have something to do with me still being on version 1.14.17?

Yes, I believe 95% of activity, if not 99%, is on 1.16

Thanks,that explains a lot.
I wonder why developers don't take over android version and update that as well,because apparently it has over 100k downloads,so it would be nice if it would also get updates.
And i no longer see android version mentioned on official Wesnoth site,almost like they given up on it.

As with anything volunteer-driven, if there's nobody interested in working on it, then it tends to not get done.

Yeah,that's disappointing.
I've check last activity of "android port maintainer" and it was back in may last year,so i guess that port is pretty much dead.

Attached is a look at the rate of games vs OOS errors over time - overall it's pretty steady at around 3% of games or so.
