can't connect to 1.16.1
Hi,
Something is wrong with the 1.16.1 add-ons server. I can't connect to it.
1.12 and 1.14 seem to work fine.

Re: can't connect to 1.16.1
Right now https://status.wesnoth.org/ says the 1.16 add-ons server is down.
The web interface is still working, though.

I can see from the website you provided that the server is in a normal state, but I can’t connect to the server. XDgnombat wrote: ↑November 18th, 2021, 12:35 pm Right now https://status.wesnoth.org/ says the 1.16 add-ons server is down.

Re: can't connect to 1.16.1
The server came back online yesterday, it seems to be working fine for me now. If you still can't connect to it, it's probably some other issue - check your log files to see if there are any error messages.
Re: can't connect to 1.16.1
I click the link server. A circle icon will appear in the game. Then the program cannot respond. Then I can only forcefully close the game.
Click on the multiplayer game server and it has been loading. I can only forcefully close the game. No error report is shown in the log.

I found that I can enter the mod server and multiplayer game server normally with 1.14. But starting from 1.15 including the current 1.16, I cannot access the server. Clicking on the connection module server program fails to respond. Clicking on the multiplayer server will always display loading, and there is no interface for entering the user name and password.
Re: can't connect to 1.16.1
I´ve got a similar problem of not being able to access neither the Add-onn server nor the multiplayer server with 1.16.1 freshly installed on Windows 10.
When I try to access Multiplayer server a get the error message "certificate verify failed" and when trying to access the add onn server it says "remote host disconnected".

In the advanced preferences, for logging, please set Network to Debug, try to connect to the multiplayer server, and then post the log here.

Re: can't connect to 1.16.1
Hello, I have checked the problem. The problem is only in "Simplified Chinese" and "Traditional Chinese". When I use English, I can enter the multiplayer server and module server normally. This BUG only exists in 1.16. 1.14 Everything is normal.Pentarctagon wrote: ↑November 20th, 2021, 8:08 pm In the advanced preferences, for logging, please set Network to Debug, try to connect to the multiplayer server, and then post the log here.
1.16 download from Steam, itch.io
1.14 download from itch.io
In Chinese, the log will not show errors.

Re: can't connect to 1.16.1
Same problem occurs on my debian 8 GNU+linux. The language is set to English(US).
On another computer (Debian 10 "buster") where all libraries come from apt, it works fine.
NB: the error happens before the password is required
Connecting to 1.16 add-on server
[edit] Updated to add add-on server connection log.
Problem solved for me. The TLS certificate listed in the logs for connection to the add-on server is giving the clue.
You can find background information in this useful link, it is likely to impact users on different platforms so check the detailed information there if you have the same problem. It probably only impacts old systems with older

Different systems (Debian 8 vs Debian 10). There is no apt-provided libraries to support BFW 1.16 on debian 8.Pentarctagon wrote: ↑November 23rd, 2021, 12:55 am If the apt-provided libraries work, and the self compiled libraries don't, then that sounds like it'd probably the issue.

If the apt-provided libraries work, and the self compiled libraries don't, then that sounds like it'd probably the issue.
