Petrified Units ? Recruiting Neutral Units

Post by Katys »

Hey, so me and my friend played for the first time, and on the map there were these Petrified units and I was intrugued, will they wake up and attqck adjacent units.
But nothing happened..
So are these just cosmetic statues?

As a game designer, I saw the possibility of neutral units that you could be recruited by your leader.
Has this been done by any mod (add-on) ?
Is it even possible, I have no idea about modding in this game.

Thank you.

The ones in the Caves of the Basilisk are just cosmetic.

For modding, yes it's possible. The mainline campaigns only use things that are also available to modifications, and the event scripting allows almost any combination of (reason the event triggers) with (what the event does).

Legend of Wesmere's second scenario has a neutral side that will turn against anyone (player or enemy) that steps on the east side of a river. A few examples that are closer to "unpetrify a unit and change which side it's fighting for" spring to mind, but most of them occur quite late in their respective campaigns, so I'll omit them as spoilers.
