Summer Camp-aigns 2019
I am teaching summer camp, and my students created BfW campaigns. The high-school students learned to play the game, then spent eight days learning WML, writing their stories, and creating campaigns with their teams. There are four campaigns in this group. We hope you play them all and leave some feedback here! (If this sounds familiar, I did the same thing last year, but in less time.)
Search for "camp-aign" on the add-on server to see them all!
King's Quest (5 scenarios, challenging difficulty level)
Shattered Loyalty (4 scenarios, normal difficulty level)
Resurrection (4 scenarios, normal difficulty level)
Phantom Blood (4 scenarios, normal & challenging difficulty levels)

I thought we were worked hard enough for this, I feel bad for the guys last here who worked on this.
Leave it to me.

Nope. One of them had heard of it, but none of them had ever played.

You got a typo in the topic number for Phantom Blood and Resurrection. (Sorry, right now I've only got time for a quick glance.)

The addonimage for Resurrection does not show anymore(so I guess something went wrong in a recent upload).

Re: Summer Camp-aigns 2019
Yeah, I fixed a couple minor bugs with that campaign, and something did go wrong. I did test it, but not well enough. (What went wrong is that I told the students I would do minor bugfixing for them, but I forgot to grab their .pbl files. I've had to rebuild them all.) It should have an icon again now. Again, thanks.

Shattered Loyalty
The changes between the story screen and the scenario start are rather drastic.
First scenario: My leader knocks on the bars of a prison and the next moment the scenario starts with a shouting match between the enemy and me. And somehow that enemy knows already that I'm trying to kill him even though he shouldn't have known yet.
Second scenario: I'm being told that death is too good for me, I'll have to go to the mines. Next moment I am in the mines and the first thing I say is a shout to riot.
It's not clear that I win by clearing either scenario objective. I thought I had to do both.
My silvercrown units demand upkeep.
Why did they make Dracaeryan a unit instead of using a Sky Drake? (I still don't get his role anyway.)
On the final map there are 3 windmills that are not villages, while there a lot of windmills that are villages. That's a bit confusing.
Phantom Blood
S2
After Defeating Richardo -> defeating
S3
The enemy leader starts on 37,11 but his keep is on 36,11.
Resurrection
S1
After the map gets bigger, 20,20 should be a mountain instead of deep water. (I have no idea if there were other oversights.)
There is a windmill that is a village and one that is just decoration.
S2
orsich -> orcish
There are weird indentations in the story text.
I can recruit and recall humans even though I'm supposed to have been seperated from my troops.
I have twice as much gold as the enemy.
S3
When I load the scenario start file, the enemy leader is on my side and I automatically win. (But it works fine if I just go from the 2nd scenario to the 3rd.)
S4
It's just him -> them
On 16,1 there is a lvl 1 Orc that can't move and once I defeat him I get a lvl 2 unit on 7,10. (Btw, 7,10 is not directly north of 8,23. Just saying.) -> I'm questioning his placement. And how that makes sense.
Overall, style points for the maps. The are nice to look at, though the chasms in S3 are a bit random.
The Kings Quest
So far (S1, S2) it loos like someone wanted to use every decoration they could find.
S3
It sounds like there were two dialogs, the first in case Lewis (the mage) is still alive and the second in case he died. But both were displayed.
S5
Tbh, it ticks me off a bit that Meowser is not a Dragon, instead he is just a Drake.
As you can see, I'm finished.

Re: Summer Camp-aigns 2019
shattered 2: RUN FOT THE HILLS
shattered 3: Turn limit very tight
shattered 4: Enemy starts with major gold advantage, and fast flying units to take over every village.
kings 5: End of turns listed as defeat condition
I think it was Phantom Blood, maybe the second scenario (the enemy leader was a wraith) that had several tiles that were listed as 'chasm unwalkable', but you could walk on them. Personally, I call this a BFW problem as it shouldn't be allowed.

Re: Summer Camp-aigns 2019
To hopefully, solve the first issue you found in our first scenario Proven Loyalty, I added a Message that I think ties the story screen and the scenario a little bit better. As for the 2nd scenario, I think the Idea was that he is thrown in the mines and instantly starts a riot. I changed it so the silver crown units no longer demand upkeep, and I deleted the windmills that were not villages. I forgot how to make the "Kill All of The Guards" objective an alternative objective, so any help with that would be much appreciated. Also if you have any ideas on how to make this campaign better I would love to here it.Konrad2 wrote: ↑July 26th, 2019, 9:49 am Shattered Loyalty

Hi! It's nice to see that you are still working on this.
It's like this:
Code: Select all
[objective]
description= _ "Move Leanderos, Enturiel and Dracaeryan Out of the Dungeon
condition=win
[/objective]
{ALTERNATIVE_OBJECTIVE ( _ "Kill All the Guards")}
