Maybe the maintainer of this campaign could add a start_year="696 YW" to the campaign's _main.cfg file, such that it is correctly displayed in BFW's campaign menu (chronological order).

Re: Oath of Allegiance [SP Desert People Campaign for 1.18.3]
I've been replaying the campaign and was wondering what the deal with the achievement riddle in S2 was about. I tried searching through the thread and couldn't find anything. I also put it through several cipher decoders, but couldn't get anything that legible.
Re: Oath of Allegiance [SP Desert People Campaign for 1.18.3]
I got to the Root of Evil scenario and quit at that point. The game should make clear the range of hexes she can unpetrify units from. I missed a few secrets early on but it feels very hard the way it is now. I lost because I didn't know a unit would get unpetrified and then it killed one of the leaders.

It took me a very long time too. You can't solve the riddle in Oath of Allegiance, you need to play Carved in Stone, another campaign made by Kwandulin.mithc wrote: March 4th, 2026, 5:12 am I've been replaying the campaign and was wondering what the deal with the achievement riddle in S2 was about. "BAIR HERNUM BLACKQVASTEN DEORE ATUM" is the riddle you mean right?
I got these lines from Carved in Stone for you
"The prophecies of the Oldest still hold truth to them. Shassagoth lives in his own realm outside of our known world. It is said, that this place lies in the deepest depths of Irdya. Blackqvasten, a place on the very brink of the world`s edge. Below us is the vortex of nothingness."
"Blackqvasten is an isolated place. A world inside another world. Our world is nothing more than the shell of Blackqvasten."
Does it make thinks more clear? I don't think so, but thats what I was able to find.

Sorry to hear that. It is a difficult scenario indeed.cupcakes wrote: March 5th, 2026, 3:15 am I got to the Root of Evil scenario and quit at that point. The feedback on it, was mostly that it was too easy, cause you can cut here way of via flying units.
I can't give you advice on that, cause it is a long time ago I played this campaign.

Ah, I never even knew Kwandulin made other campaigns. Thanks for the insight from his other campaign. It seems more like an easter egg or nod to a larger world lore that maybe never got expanded upon. Cool to know it actually referenced something though. Also, wanted to say thanks for maintaning/porting this and other campaigns. Came back to BfW after a 7 year break and its been fun playing through some of my old favorites.Refumee wrote: March 5th, 2026, 9:26 amIt took me a very long time too. Re: Oath of Allegiance [SP Desert People Campaign for 1.18.3]
After many years of not having played it, I recently played it again. It's a really great campaign - not quite as good as my all-time favourite To-Lands-Unknown, but the campaign has many great things. The unique abilities of the heroes are great fun, the wyverns are cool too, story great, artwork a bit unusual but nice too.
The only scenario I did not quite like was the last one; also because it was slow and lagging. Note that I played it on wesnoth version 1.19.23.
So excluding the final scenario, I'd give this campaign 9 out of 10 points.
There are a very few things that may be improved a little. For instance, units can take an item. But only one. It would be nice if the effect of that item would be shown somewhere, perhaps in the bottom right area too.
Also, on the map where one can buy items, I bought that flying snake thing, for the archer-hero, but he kind of became ... invisible and I did not see the snake. He retained perma-invisibility, oddly enough. Very strange.
It would be nice to also have some unit that can have slow effect, perhaps camel riders too, similar to Lands unknown or so ... or something similar to the magic carpet. Perhaps a special wyvern type? Sonic attack type or so aka wyvern scream.
Also, one of the merchant there says "you have no slave to sell" or something like that, in the bottom left area. No clue what to do there. May be nice to add a shield or so or perhaps explain this a bit more in the intro to the map.
The atavi are quite great, teleport is nifty. Was that always there? I don't quite recall this before; seems to be as if some things were improved in general here.
I'd also wish the campaign would be a bit longer; not much, say, 1-2 more scenarios that can be an interesting fight.

Re: Oath of Allegiance [SP Desert People Campaign for 1.18.3]
In scenario 14 Tharwya I've tried to buy Tangshe from Sharaf using Azyan. The Tangshe's icon wasn't visible, and the Azyan's icon disappeared after the purchase.
It seems that the icon "units/heroes/azyantangshe.png" referenced in "macros/tharwya-merchants-macro.cfg" is missing. Could you double check it, please?

Will be fixed in the next version. Thank you for the hint. I never realised that you can do that.cntsa94392 wrote: June 5th, 2026, 12:12 pm In scenario 14 Tharwya I've tried to buy Tangshe from Sharaf using Azyan. I believe so too that 1.19.23 can be laggy sometimes. I encountered this problem too. The final scenario is kinda boring and nice in one in my opinion, cause the campaign is giving you a ton of free units that yo cant recall. So in the end I had a giant army.
Will be done in the next update. There are a very few things that may be improved a little. For instance, units can take an item. But only one. It would be nice if the effect of that item would be shown somewhere, perhaps in the bottom right area too.
Fixed in the next version. I didnt know that you can uprade him. Also, on the map where one can buy items, I bought that flying snake thing, for the archer-hero, but he kind of became ... invisible and I did not see the snake. He retained perma-invisibility, oddly enough. Very strange.
There are several slowing units in this campaign. It would be nice to also have some unit that can have slow effect, perhaps camel riders too, similar to Lands unknown or so ... or something similar to the magic carpet. Perhaps a special wyvern type? Sonic attack type or so aka wyvern scream.
The Shield Guard can slow and knockback. The guardsman too, cause every knockback unit can slow, if the unit can't be moved.
But I understand that you want to see more arabian nights units.
I guess you mean the mercenary buyer. I'll add a note. Also, one of the merchant there says "you have no slave to sell" or something like that, in the bottom left area. No clue what to do there. May be nice to add a shield or so or perhaps explain this a bit more in the intro to the map.
As far as I know it was always there, but not really working. I fixed that. The atavi are quite great, teleport is nifty. Was that always there? I don't quite recall this before; seems to be as if some things were improved in general here.
For me personally, porting this campaign and then playing it was quite a ride.I'd also wish the campaign would be a bit longer; not much, say, 1-2 more scenarios that can be an interesting fight.
As I said, I ported it, so I dont have really the vision for more scenarios.

Re: Oath of Allegiance [SP Desert People Campaign for 1.18.3]
In scenario 11, how can the 'dwarvish adventurer' be recruited? There's a short dialogue when Au'la moves next to what I assume is the only dwarf on the map, but he doesn't get unpetrified, nor does the achievement trigger. I avoided the other exclamation marks, because apparently she can only free one unit.
Excellent campaign so far by the way.
