Master-at-Arms thought
I was thinking that it might be thematic and/or neat if the Master at arms had marksman on his sword.
compensations: obviousely this would be a major improvment so he might want to lose either damage, or hp or something if this change were implimented.
Thematic values- It would show mastery of the blade, it would make it so that he would be very good at killing fencers, and thieves and such which would fit with the theme. It would give it a more assassin feel that would fit with what very good swordsman were often used for.
Alternitive idea on same lines- give the fencer and/or duelist an alternate advancement that had marksman on their sword.
I doubt it would affect mp balancing much due to the rarity of lvl 3s. Campains might be a problem, but looking at it few campains use fencers that I know of.
As for anyone saying that the marksman special should olny apply to range attacks, I say it could apply to any weapon where hitting one small or specific mark would be an advantage this could apply to.

Well there is another part to the marksman ability and that is extream skill.
Olny the sharpest of elven archers get it.
So it seems apt that olny the greatest swordsmen (if any) get it.

Re: Master-at-Arms thought
I like the idea. If any mainline unit were to get marksman on a melee attack, it would make sense for it to be the Master-at-Arms.Velensk wrote:I was thinking that it might be thematic and/or neat if the Master at arms had marksman on his sword.
And as I've mentioned before, in case anyone complains about applying "marksman" to melee attacks, it could be renamed "expert" or "master" or "mastery" or some such thing.
