1 vs 1 replay (Den of Onis - Soliton vs Benedicto_CZ)

Post by Soliton »

Here is a replay from a game I played vs Benedicto_CZ on the Den of Onis map, both are Northerner. I think it shows some nice gameplay.

Btw, thank you for this nice thread Doc Paterson, it's possibly the sole reason i keep checking the forum. :-)

Edit: added the attachment, no idea how it got lost in the first place

A really top-tier match there, Soliton. Thanks for posting it. It's great to see someone using Nagas effectively on that map.

Maxy (P1, Loyalists) vs. Sir Fantom (P2, Elves) on Old Charge.

Match 1

and Match 2

http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... sirfantom2

Tux the Penguin (P1, Knalgans) vs. Dragonking (P2, Undead) on Blitz.

http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... Dragonking

Wu World Order  (P1, Northerners) vs. oGLAo Da King (P2, Elves) on Den of Onis.
What is the opposite of a Global Liberation Army? A Wu World Order, of course. :D

oGLAo Da King (a clansman) before this match: "I'm gonna beat your a**!"

oGLAo Da King at the end of this match: (I can't spoil this one- just watch.) 8)

More good matches are on their way- They'll be up just as soon as my hotmail account starts working again. :x

:D

Some really great new matches for you guys:

Calhoun (P1, Loyalist) vs. Dragonking (P2, Drakes) on Charge.
Some added info: Calhoun is Dave's brother, and is quite a solid player. :)

http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/me_vs_Calhoun

Dragonking (P1, Elves) vs. Captain Lysander (P2, Loyalists) on Blitz.
http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... n_Lysander
During this game, Mercury comes in and says that he wants to play DK. DK finishes this game, goes to the doctor, then comes back and plays this game:

Dragonking (P1, Loyalists) vs. Mercury (P2, Drakes) on Blitz.

http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... vs_Mercury

The sickness does not seem to be affecting his mind much. 8)

Tomsik (P1, Drakes) vs. Iku Yo (Player 2, Loyalists) on Charge.

http://mercury.walagata.com/w/paterson/ ... vs._Iku_Yo

Vincent (P1, Undead) vs. Soliton (P2, Knalgans) on Old Charge.
This is a really fun to watch Age of Superheroes game. Vincent, known for his Wraith/Shadow style, ends up with a sickly powerful Level 4 Lich. A highly recommended match.

3 new replays

Post by Soliton »

Here are 3 new replays:
  • Soliton(Undead) vs. Dragonking(Knalgan) on Charge
    Soliton(Northerner) vs. ereksos(Northerner) on Charge
    lolo1(Knalgan) vs. Soliton/Dragonking(Undead) on Blitz
I apologize to lolo1 for leaving the match but it wasn't intentional, my isp decided to screw up.
(I just got my net connection back the next day.)
It's a very nice and surprising match none the less.
The first match shows the current state of the Undead and some upcoming balancing changes are discussed in the chat.
The second match is a tough and long one, enjoy.

There are two Ages of Superheroes eras currently on the campaign server, which one is it?

Here is an interesting replay:

GEO (Drakes) vs yogibear (Northerners)

At a certain point within the game GEO decides to rush for the Northerner leader. He is outnumbering the Northerner troops at first and the trolls have a hard time withstanding. Final showdown begins...

Good work all- So many solid matches.

That Soliton/Ereksos match- WOW. It's very good to see that map now functioning in the way that I hoped it would....Really excellent blend of units on both sides. I found myself wishing I could comment on a lot of the conversations in that match though. (Huu saying he thinks the P1 advantage might be larger now... :? ):P

Loved the Yogi/Geo one too. It's funny- I've seen that scenario on that map repeated quite a few times, where player 1 overextends with their leader and ends up at a disadvantage. Nice match; good job Yogi.

Oh- Almost forgot about that spectacular comeback in the lolo/soliton/DK match. Too good.

I've got a few fun matches that I'll be posting soon, whenever I can get back to the "home base" computer.

another good replay

Post by Soliton »

I've finally gotten around to post this match played on Meteor Lake - STNA NarSissi (Rebels) vs Soliton (Northerner).
You need to check the replay button as it's not played to the end, enjoy.

Edit: compressed the replay

This is a rather long and interesting game between me (player 1, Drakes) and Soliton (player 2, Loyalists). I don't think I've played such an interesting game of Wesnoth in months.

That doesn't mean I'm going to play Drakes in the future, though. :P

A clasher or two would really have served you well, Pillager, especially with that crazy early game luck of yours. :P A good game though; I was really impressed by a lot of Soliton's moves.

Let's not forget the first game you guys played- I'm sure people will enjoy this one as well:

Elvish Pillager (P1, Knalgans) vs. Soliton (P2, Knalgans) on Blitz.

(S)elfish Weirdo (P1, Elves) vs. Golden Weasel (P2, Northerners) on Old Charge. (forgot I had this one)
Highlight of the match: Weirdo saying that player two has an advantage on Old Charge. :P

I've never really seen what good a Clasher is when you can have the faster, cheaper, flying Fighters. Care to enlighten me?

Clasher has 4 hp more, can deal more damage, has 2 types of damage (pierce too so great vs horsemans), has more swings than fighter and also it isn't vulnerable to pierce.

Yes sir. For all of these reasons, it's the closest thing to an anti-loyalist unit that the Drakes have.
