Does it show up the introductory lines?
I don't know what may have caused this type of bug.The only ways to lose this scenario are turns over or death of any hero.No one has reported this bug before.If it persists WML experts need to be consulted again.

Hi, same bug in the scenario "Punishment for Treason" (Wesnoth 1.8.5 on Windows XP SP2), see the file attached.

I can read the whole introduction on the wesnoth map (before beginning the scenario map).

I, too, can get through the entire introduction. Also, Aric and his army are missing from the map. It seems as if the scenario starts to execute the red flag turns, but no units are present. It then goes to the blue flag and places one unit in the keep and declares the scenario lost.

The bug in the scenario "Punishment for treason" can happen if :
1. Aric's army cannot be recalled (quite unlikely,as the same code which has been used to alternate armies have been used here too)
2. Aric and Princess Radah are not on the recall list (similarly unlikely as they are heroes)

This will take some time to solve.Let me see whether any WML experts can help.

I am sorry.Its quite unfortunate that no WML expert could find a plausible explanation for the error and provide a solution (they had helped me out in a number of occasions previously).I myself is at a loss to explain the glitch.
I hope you haven't meddled with the WML in previous scenarios in a way that kills the whole of Aric's army at the end of "The siege of Dwarven Doors",including the heroes.You may try to replay the previous scenario (talk only) or replay the scenarios from "The siege of Dwarven Doors".I will be uploading the campaign shortly on the 1.9x server.It will attract more players then,and any remaining glitches can be hopefully fixed.
Thank you for playing "Rebellion in the North".

Only one thing I'm resstarting playing the campaign (after finishing it, I lose the saves when I was cleaning my PC) and I see that in the scenario "Troll Caves" there's and important bottleneck near the boss troll castle. Is a bit annoying to expend turns and turns in this location. Please reconsider the width of the tunnels.

There is a bottleneck near the region where you meet the bat.It leads to a chest of gold guarded by a spider.This must be kept.Another one is just after passing the castle of the 1st troll,which leads to a lone village.This one may be removed.Actually I have made the tortuous route so that the small map appears large enough to pose a challenge.You only have to secure certain points where you can fight the trolls easily.

Yeah, I find the gold chest with the spider the first time I played it but I was talking about the second bottleneck. The first one is not very problematic.

Thanks for looking for the issue related to the Punishment for Treason scenario. I re-started the campaign, get to the same point (with all heroes and armies), and fail with the same issue. Overall, the campaign was one of the best, in terms of balancing and story, that I have seen added at the user mod site. Unfortunately, I can't see what is causing the error and will probably abandon the effort, since it is tedious to keep re-playing each scenario looking for issues. I will check back occasionally to see if anyone has identified the issue.

"Rebellion in the North" has been uploaded on the 1.9x server.The campaign is complete and balanced,and has been played by a good number of players on BfW 1.8x.
Most of the codes which were to be changed to suit BfW 1.9.5 have been corrected.However a few glitches may be present(as I have not yet tested the campaign in BfW 1.9.5).If anyone finds any problem please report it in this forum at the earliest.
All criticisms are welcome.Due to the hectic schedule of my work at present I may not be able to address your issues immediately,but I will definitely take them up when I get the time.Please keep your patience kindly for the time being.
I hope you will enjoy "Rebellion in the North",which is my first campaign for BfW.

In "Journey through the swamp", the 1.9 version, the beginning is broken because you forgot the [filter] tag for [modify_unit] (line 94). This causes the objectives to not show up, aswell the treasure chest image is not there, and all gold changes (Aric <--> Krshan) aren't executed.
Edit: Same in "The Pact".
Editedit: And because the gold storing fails, in "Saving the Earl" I got only 250 gold, and the Earl does not have a single Swordsman guard. :augh:
Btw, it would be nice if you could add spaces after punctuation. That would make texts easier to read.

The portion in "Journey through the swamp" which is disturbing is probably the following:

Code: Select all

    [modify_unit]
    id=Aric
    canrecruit=yes
    [/modify_unit]

    [store_gold]
            side=1
            variable=krshan2_gold
    [/store_gold]

    [modify_side]
        side=1
        {GOLD 150 120 100}
    [/modify_side]

    [gold]
    side=1
    amount=$aric_gold
    [/gold]
    {CLEAR_VARIABLE aric_gold}

    [objectives]
            side=1
            [objective]
                description= _ "Get Aric to the end of the swamp"
                condition=win
            [/objective]
            [objective]
                description= _ "Defeat all enemies (Early finish bonus)"
                condition=win
            [/objective]
            [objective]
                description= _ "Death of Aric"
                condition=lose
            [/objective]
            [objective]
                description= _ "Turns run out"
                condition=lose
            [/objective]

            note={EARLY_FINISH_BONUS_NOTE}+{NEW_GOLD_CARRYOVER_NOTE_40}
    [/objectives]

    {PLACE_IMAGE "items/chest.png" 2  21}
These worked perfectly in the 1.8x versions.I don't know why this 1.9x creates such problems.,which are most disturbing to persons like me who are not WML experts.Anyway I will try to fix these as soon as possible.If any of you have any suggestion please mention it in this forum.

Just put a [filter] around "id=Aric", this will make the whole event work. Because [modify_unit] creates a lua error, the rest of the event isn't executed properly.
(Same for "The Pact").

Well, I was playing today the same campaign, and it was a bummer that it got stuck there, I mean, its the mission #26!! Its like wow you're almost over, but noo you don't get to see the end D:! think you could check it? Besides, the mission BEFORE "Punishment For Treason" doesn't appear, it marks a name, but it just "jumps it", its pretty weird (Mission "Plan For The Kill") maybe the error starts over there?
