Re: 05 - The Saurian Treasury
Thanks gnombat for the clarification. However I still think 'Defeat in detail' is too modern for this story/setting.

Re: 05 - The Saurian Treasury
Wesnoth 1.14.11, High Lord (Challenging), no reloading during campaign, played the scenario several timesContent Feedback wrote: ↑October 8th, 2008, 12:22 pm The Legend of Wesmere, scenario 5 - The Saurian Treasury:
(1) What difficulty levels and what version of Wesnoth have you played the scenario on?
Without decisive strategy this can be difficult. I used 'wose wall strategy' here which makes it relatively easy even with minimum (240) gold. With good strategy maybe 4 in comparison with the rest of the campaign. Without good strategy up to 10.Content Feedback wrote: ↑October 8th, 2008, 12:22 pm (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)
The 'kill the leaders' version is clear. The other one I dont know.Content Feedback wrote: ↑October 8th, 2008, 12:22 pm (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?
Ok.Content Feedback wrote: ↑October 8th, 2008, 12:22 pm (4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?
None.Content Feedback wrote: ↑October 8th, 2008, 12:22 pm (5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?

Not sure. Saurians are (for me at least) generally less fun to play against.Content Feedback wrote: ↑October 8th, 2008, 12:22 pm (7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?
No.Content Feedback wrote: ↑October 8th, 2008, 12:22 pm (8) Was there any event that caused you to lose the game and forced you to reload or restart the scenario?

Re: 05 - The Saurian Treasury
(1) What difficulty levels and what version of Wesnoth have you played the scenario on? High Lord (Difficult) 1.18.4
(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 9
(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? Clear
(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario? Good
(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario? Time pressure against not losing valuable units. Recruitment-wise I recommend only recalling a few heroes or rangers, along with many fresh fighters and woses. Because of the time pressure I needed to be fairly aggressive the second day, and this requires putting bait units in vulnerable positions where the saurians will come out to kill them. Because of the need to maintain a solid line, recalling or recruiting too many valuable units, like marksmen or shamans, will overly burden your defensive capabilities. Strategy-wise I maintained a line in the south forest, using woses to cover flat and swamp tiles. I defended the first day and night, then attacked the second day, using bait units as mentioned. Experience was given to the loyal sorceress and druid where possible, though the woses will also end up getting alot. Also, after most of the north wave got close to my line, I had one of the loyal scouts sneak out to start taking villages early, to reduce the south leaders income and lower my upkeep. Halfway through the second day I had my attacking team split up to deal with the two leaders; it takes too long if they all move together. Marksmen and levelled shamans finally get their time here, picking off saurians in the sand and swamp. Overall the most important aspect is strategy; advancing to the middle forest at the beginning is very ineffective, but waiting too long in the west will cause you to run out of time.
(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10) 5, saurians in their own terrain are always a bit annoying
(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun? Less sand or swamp, but this scenario presents a decent challenge
(8) Was there any event that caused you to lose the game and forced you to reload or restart the scenario? Ran out of time by not being aggressive enough the second day because I was trying to protect too many valuable units
(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 9
(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? Clear
(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario? Good
