How did you find out about Wesnoth?

Wesnoth was dugg. That's how I found it, and I showed it to several friends who I thought would receive it well. I love it, it's got aspects of three of my all time favorite games. X-Com, Fire Emblem, and Advance Wars.

I was searching for a walkthrough on Warsong, an old Sega Genesis strategy game. The Wikipedia entry for Warsong indicates that BfW was heavily inspired by Warsong, so I thought I'd give it a try.

I haven't actually played BfW yet, but it looks awesome, and I am a huge rabid fan of Warsong and strategy RPGs in general, so I'm downloading it right now.

This project looks great. It warms my heart to see so many people working on something this awesome. Anyway, I've deviated from the topic, so yeah. I'll stop ranting now.

Found it on Sourceforge after doing a search in the software-map for turn-based strategy, sorted by most downloads in all time. Wesnoth was second after a 'scorched earth' clone, with around 620,000 downloads I think. Nice.

I found Wesnoth while searching Wikipedia for turn-based strategy games. Master of Monsters for Sega Genesis was one of my favorite games, thanks for allowing me to relive the experience.

it was buindled with suse 10.0 (though not the latest version so i had to upgrade....)

the latest stable is bundledd with suse 10.1 now that is out

Found it in the German computer magazine c't. (http://www.heise.de/ct/) It was among a collection of free- and shareware.
