Re: Wesnoth 45000 Era
Necromancer is from the greek νεκρομαντία, which is derived from the greek word for a dead body. This was later latinised as as necromantia. It then passed into medieval church latin as this, influenced by the word "niger", black. Thus it developed into "nigromauncy", as a french influence crept in("nigromansere"). Eventually, it returned to necromancer. Orcus is the god of broken oaths. Tolkien was the Rawlinson and Bosworth Professor of Anglo-Saxon at Oxford and had a fascination with myths and languages, manifested in that beautiful fantasy world we all know, and its people and places. Mortuus is a perfect active participle.(this is a little off topic, sorry).
High over valleys in the red levelling rays -
In din of crowded streets, going among the years, the faces,
May I still meet my memory in so lonely a place
Between the streams and the red clouds, hearing the curlews, Hearing the horizons endure.
In din of crowded streets, going among the years, the faces,
May I still meet my memory in so lonely a place
Between the streams and the red clouds, hearing the curlews, Hearing the horizons endure.
