Doesn't the pikeman also have blade (and pierce) type damage though?
Well... the halberdier does anyways, pikeman is still just pierce.

I'd still take the swordsman, I just really like how they move faster.

Draug: Just think a huge rotting corpse like thing comes up with a huge battle axe and hits you, the decay on the battle axe should be poisonous but anyway its great as is

Funny you should mention that. Poison was considered for him, as was 'bleed', which would have been a weaker poison, and now he's looking to get a different ability all together.
