Is my only option to keep roaming the Field and grinding fights with random troops to gain fame and experience?
Yes, unfortunately. You need 351 fame and need to win the battle without the help of the general.
If you already captured all the villages and small outpost, you may have enough force to win the battle.
Maybe 2-3 units could be added. I don't think you need so many extra high level units.
(If your elf is still level 1, you should try to advance her.)

# 15 units (including some low level units) may be enough, but I'm not sure. I lost my test play data...

Version 0.3.0, 1.18 port uploaded to the addon server.

- 1.18 port
- add new naga units
- fix some dune units
- bugfix: status of village/outpost guard will be kept after the battle
- changes internal mechanism of hp/maxhp of a troop
- add achievements (one is bit difficult, others are not difficult)
- modify behaviour counting formula
- fix minor typos
- add a new mission to get fame somewhat swiftly
- issue warning at the main outpost when food is in short supply

(edit: Mar 3) version 0.3.0a uploaded. One of achievements (not a difficult one) is set hidden.
(edit: Mar 22) version 0.3.0b uploaded. You couldn't retreat from the battle... fixed.

Hehe, tried on the hardest diff, and after a tough start, the second fort falls to an unbreakable siege!

Hello, I'm unsure if this forum is still in use, but I've encountered a bug that I've never had before, with all the troops on the main field map showing their normal health when you hover over them, but their actual unit on the map always has 5/5 health, and when you attack them (or are attacked) their units spawn in with full health, even when severely injured. I haven't played BfW for months, but I've made sure everything is updated, add-ons and BfW itself.

Hey, rolled back my game version to 1.16 and it works, but not in 1.18, so I'm guessing a BfW update messed the troop system up, there was an update the day before yesterday that mentioned something about a new variable to units, but I may be mistaken.

Hello,

Update of BfW may not be concerned with this, since this troop system is not from BfW core engine. This troop system is designed for this campaign and is just pretending to be BfW-ish. (Because of these tricky things, bugs occur so frequently... especially when porting to new BfW version...)

This is true and is not a bug. The displayed status of troop is always cheated. The real unit hp (such as 280) is stored elsewhere.

# The overall system may be the same in 1.16. I don't remember too many details, though.

Oh yeah, it's always tricky to remember that what the HELP page says is for the default unit type and sometimes doesn't much resemble the on map unit. In this case the difference is pretty wild. : )

Yes, the fact that it doesn't show correctly isn't so bad of a problem, the real issue is that even when units are injured, they spawn in battles with full health, no matter what. 😅

Oh sorry, I missed that point! :oops: It was a bug (most probably introduced in the 1.18 porting). Fixed version 0.3.0c is now uploaded. Thank you very much for the report, randomchair22! :D

Thank you very much for the quick fix! I really enjoy this mod, and I'm finally trying it out on Survive! difficulty, having to take both forts was quite the shock, to say the least!

Thank you once again, the health is working and units are spawning with their correct health in battles now! The only problem is the health displayed on the map, making it difficult to tell their health without hovering over and reading out each unit's health.
