Yeah, I was wondering about that, and leaving the level 3 aside for now sounds good. On another note, how should I depict the Laquerius and Laquerius Fabers' lances? The Faber's current sprite has something that looks like a jousting lance, which doesn't seem very fitting for an unmounted unit. Should I go with a mainly wooden body which has vamplate, or basically clean up the current designs?
You're correct, the jousting lance with vamplate is pretty odd in the setting. I think we're more after a javelin-like stabbing spear like the mainline spearman's, I suspect it's just a lance because Turin thought it looked good, but its purpose is to stab enemies that have been caught in the lasso, so a lance doesn't seem appropriate.

But perhaps 'maintainer' is too strong a word.

Yes. The raindancer will continue with the knife, but the windlasher, tempest and stormlord will have impact weapons.

Quick update on the attack animation. Still haven't added the recovery frames, among other things.

I think he should have more wind up before he attacks, right now it looks a little weak.

Hey again,

Sorry that it's been a while since I posted. I tried to cover a bit more the previous wesnoth style and the wesnoth orcs. Here is one of my new sketches for the imperial orcs...

Looks like a good Pugnator or Paegniarius.

Here's a rendered version... I'm quite happy with it. Maybe you have some other ideas or critics on it.

I feel as though you lost the spirit of the inotial sketch (something I have done a few times). The rendered version also has some drawing issues, mainly perspective. A quick draw over:

Sorry for the slow progress! I've been running into a lot of complications recently. I was actually planning on posting an essentially finished Paegnirius and Feral Bestiarius, but a family member accidentally deleted a lot of my files a few days ago, so I've lost a lot of motivation for working on pixel art in general. Ah, well, that's life for you.

Here's a slight update on the attack animation. I could probably stand to exaggerate the windup even more, and there's a lot of smoothing out to do. However, the overall motion of the animation is pretty much there, so I think I can start fleshing it out soon.
