First I read about it probably was on the Dominions 2 forums, in a post by Gandalf Parker (I guess). But it didn't register until I saw a mention of it in a Usenet group (csipg.strategic, I guess), and, more importantly, a very favorable mention of it in issue #17 of PC4War, a French mag exclusively about strategy PC gaming. I downloaded the Linux version to my desktop, and then they included the Windows version on their CD in issue #18 (late July).
Incidentally, my 9-year-old nephew saw me playing this, and wanted to try. I installed it on his grandfather's PC for him to try, and was rather surprised when he didn't become bored with it (I thought it would be too hard for him); it's been about a week, and now he calls me on the phone to tell me he finished the next scenario in the Heir to the Throne campaign. I guess he's as hooked as I am

Shosuro Phil, does the name Bayushi Kachiko mean anything to you?

Sourceforge
I was looking for a good opensource game at Sourceforge (Why didn't you propose it as a place ton find Wesnoth???) and I found this.
Really great, I haven't stopped playing for the last week...
I hope I can help in something, maybe translations (ok, I won't continue this here, I'll go the good place in the forum..)

Mbnetin päivänpeli.
MBnet is a Finnish game magazine, and "päivänpeli" stands for the "game of the day. In other words MBnet, the magazine, has a page which has a showcase for one good shareware/freeware game per day. Wesnoth was one of these. (I have the page as my starting page). It was a few weeks back I think.

It was also the Game of the Month in the actual paper magazine some months ago in the spring.jahuu wrote:Mbnetin päivänpeli.

Kuro5hin.org
kuro5hin.org had an article about Indie gaming a little while back. One of the comments mention Wesnoth as a success story. I'm glad I checked it out!

Was bored and looking for interesting games that had been ported to FreeBSD.
