Re: After the Storm 0.10.18.1 [Wesnoth 1.14.x & 1.15.12+]
I have reinstalled Wesnoth after a long time and replayed This campaign since I had fond memories of it. I was pleasantly surprised to see Igor this Time. It always amaze me to see how much efforts and details went in such projects. Like the differents little dialogues when you select the barrels With the heroes… I don’t know it it mean anything, but I created an account just to Thank the author for This hard work. Thank you for al the fun I had, both in the past and right now !
After the Storm 1.0.0 [Wesnoth 1.18.x & 1.19.22+]
Invasion from the Unknown version 2.2.0 and After the Storm version 1.0.0 are out now.
Please see the announcement post on IftU's thread for most of the information applying to both campaigns that you need to know.
While I've considered AtS to be feature-complete since as early as version 0.9.0, the main criterion that kept me from labelling it version 1.0.0 all these years is the fact that most of the characters introduced in AtS lack speaking portraits of their own. Given that this is a problem I'm unlikely to solve in the short term, and the 0.x versioning risks causing players to distrust the playability of the content before even hitting the Download button, I decided to take the plunge and start the 1.0.x version series with this release, originally slated to be v0.11.0. I also believe that achieving full Wesnoth 1.18 support makes this a good point to start the 1.0.x series, since Wesnoth 1.18 is probably the most technically mature version of Wesnoth to date with its many under-the-hood changes.

I believe that's pretty much everything that you need to know. While I managed to rush to squash many bugs over the past few weeks—thanks to Konrad2, Lord-Knightmare, mithc, and Roge_Tebnelok for your work reporting them!—I expect there to remain a lot more to be found, especially if you play on 1.19.x. Make sure to report anything that seems broken, and have fun! The complete changelog for this version of AtS follows:

unit markers more consistently (IftU issue #84, AtS issue #112, Naia issue
#51)
* `[apply_amlas] amla_ids=` allows enumerating AMLAs to apply by id to avoid
including the original AMLA WML tags wholesale.
* `[apply_amlas]` now matches on recall list units as well.
Version 20260329:
-----------------
* General:
* First fully-supported Wesnoth 1.18 release, supporting Wesnoth 1.17.23 and
later; as well as Wesnoth 1.19.22 through 1.20.x.
* Removed all compatibility code for Wesnoth 1.15.13 and earlier.

with incompatible modifications enabled (currently unused). This is meant
to report add-ons which the player should disable rather than outright
remove.
* Cleared add-on blacklist.

* New or updated unit graphics: Shaxthal Drone, Shaxthal Assault Drone,
Shaxthal Sentry Drone, Fire Wisp (verbatim port from 1.19.20).
* Added fire effect from Animated Weather and Scenery.
* Lua and WML library:
* Add `[variable_is_multiple]` WML conditional tag.
* `[setup_doors]` now always excludes terrain overlays used for open doors
(ending in `o`) .

* Add `[open_doors]` WML action to switch gate terrain to its open version.
* Add `[variable_exists]` WML conditional tag.
* Add `[list_foreach]` WML action tag.
* Progressive achievements are tracked locally instead of globally, until
completed.
* Added comma-separated list support to `[remove_object] object_id=`.
* Terrains:
* Removed obsolete Earthy Rockbound Cave terrain.
* Removed obsolete Snowy Great Tree and Dead Great Oak Tree terrains.
* Incorporated Event Flag overlays from AtS.
* Updated Wasteland terrain graphics.
* Made it so single-tile gaps in the mainline Mine Rail terrain are filled
when the gap terrain is a gate or impassable overlay.
* User interface:
* Updated `[bug]` UI.
* Story text utilities now use resolution-independent text scaling to avoid
impossibly tiny captions on high DPI/Retina devices.
* Fixed a major issue with the fallback unit selection system in `[message]`
(e.g. used to select a character to speak on behalf of undead units)
causing most uses of WML variables to break entirely within `[option]`.
* Reworked `[color_adjust]` screen effects to use `[screen_fade]` internally
instead.
* Added debug UI utilities to the context menu in maintainer mode when debug
mode is enabled.
* New campaign intro warning UI.
* New Journey Log system.
* New gameplay mechanics info UI.
* New achievements notification UI.
* Reworked objectives UI macros for consistency and increased readability
across all campaigns.
* Fixed extra healing sound when units get healed by glyphs.
* Healing glyphs now use the item pick-up UI instead of `[message]`.
* Terrains:
* Added Dark Hive Facility, Dark Hive Vent, Dark Hive Heatsink.
* Units:
* Switched all units, abilities, and weapon specials to the 1.16 special
notes syntax.
* Character AMLAs other than Vitality are now always shown in the Advance
Unit dialog rather than automatically selected even if they are the last
available advancement.
* Updated Fire Wisp to use stats from its mainline version in 1.19.20:
* HP increased from 11 to 13.
* XP decreased from 40 to 18.
* Cost decreased from 12 to 5.
* Melee damage decreased from 4-3 to 3-2.
* Removed obsolete Fire Wraith backport.
* Removed obsolete Giant Ant unit.
* Faeries' movement cost and defense on deep water and unwalkable terrains
now match the Wesnoth 1.18 stats for Elvish Shyde and Sylph.
* Elynia's movement cost on deep water water and unwalkable terrains is now
slightly worse than new cost for faeries, while her defense is the same as
theirs. This is meant to reflect the fact that she's not good at floating
too far off the ground without compromising the new strategical
expectations of her broader unit class in Wesnoth 1.18. Thanks once again,
Wesnoth devs /s.
* New stealth ability.
* New tactician ability.
* Removed ambush ability from Elvish Prowler.
* Added stealth ability to Elvish Prowler.
* New unit line: Elvish Patrol Captain (advances to Elvish Field Steward,
Elvish Pathfinder, Elvish Wayfarer).
* Uses a custom AMLA system instead of regular unit line progression.
* Intended to be used by IftU and AtS.
* New malice ability.
* New unit line: Archaic Lich (advances to Undying Eradicator).
* Uses a custom AMLA system instead of regular unit line progression.
* Intended to be used by IftU and AtS.
* New unit type: Tenebrous Everbane.
* Fixed sylvan spark and similar abilities not taking mushroom terrains into
account properly.

Re: After the Storm 1.0.0 [Wesnoth 1.18.x & 1.19.22+]
Hello! I appreciate your response, first of all I love the campaigns in Spanish and especially that they relate to each other, but at least in my opinion... the ending was strange (forced) and bitter.
It is understood that Hekuba orchestrated everything from part 1 up to that moment, along with gaining power thanks to the copy of the heart, but to be defeated by killing the elf's clone... strange and bitter.
Aside from that, I am experiencing a "bug."
I can achieve achievements, but when I close the game and play later, those achievements disappear (the ones related to obtaining weapons or items).
PD:It would be nice if in the missions where you handle 2 sides there was an option for one of them to be controlled by the AI. Honestly, I completed all the campaigns in less than 10 days... and when you have to control 2 sides, it makes me want to skip the level directly, it gets tedious.

I figured out while implementing achievements that if Wesnoth closes abnormally (this includes using ctrl+c / SIGINT on Linux and macOS) the achievement progression is not saved to disk, unlike the preferences data. This is a general game bug/design oversight and not a campaign bug, I've just not found the time to report it. Anyway, I presume that there's something about the way you close the game that isn't quite ordinary.Aside from that, I am experiencing a "bug."

Re: After the Storm 1.0.0 [Wesnoth 1.18.x & 1.19.22+]
Code: Select all
turn 1EDIT 2026-04-10:
