Re: Affably Evil
Yes, you're right, Fowleri. Thanks. I've edited my previous post with your correction.
Speak softly, and carry Doombringer.

I ran into the same problem. I fixed it in my version (1.18) by adding:Rendy55 wrote: ↑August 6th, 2025, 1:01 pm Následující rozšíření obsahovalo chyby a nemohlo být nahráno:

Re: Affably Evil
I tried kill enemy leaders with kill debug instead of skiping first scenario now krux and my other leaders spawned in middle keep instead in north keep and alied bandit joined me and i can normally continue
Re: Affably Evil
Yea I found this add-on to be quite hard, sometimes frustratingly so. I found this walkthrough helpful:
https://wiki.wesnoth.org/Affably_Evil_Walkthrough
I got past the first scenario only by taking over the middle bandit camp and continually recruiting new units. It ended up being a slog. However, since you can't keep any regular units you leveled, I felt all that leveling was bit wasted.
Like LoTI, Affably Evil continually throws a ton of enemies at you. In LoTI, it's fun because you get to upgrade all your characters, so its item & xp farming for your whole team. Here, you only get to upgrade your heroes, so it feels more like busy-work.
Also, because you can't recall any of regular units between maps, you really have to be efficient with your hero item builds. Otherwise you can't get up the power curve.
After I got past the first map, I ended up cheating a few maps later at the Marilyn scenario
If any one has tips on good hero item builds, I'd like to try it again. I know LoTI heroes can get extremely overpowered, but I never got any of my Affably Evil guys to that level.

yeah loti is different in way you have powerfull heroes i just solo whole inferno, whole chapter 5 dungeon and last crusade only with my 2 leaders and do not using other units.

Re: Affably Evil
I think that's the level where you run to the north-east. You can't beat all the undead that spawn at night. Some of them despawn when it's day time, so you're just looking to survive the night.
You only need 1 hero unit to reach the upper right edge and the scenario ends. There are recruiting stations for you to recruit sacrificial units. Clump your guys and keep moving to the northeast. Stack movement items on your fastest hero, and if things start looking bad, break him off from the rest of the group and just get to the edge.

Thanks for tip a pass throught
Re: Affably Evil
Is there a way to play the campaign on version 1.18? Or, do I have to install some older version of Wesnoth? 1.16?
Re: Affably Evil
If you know how to manually install an addon, just download it from the 1.16 add on web page:
https://addons.wesnoth.org/1.16/
You install it by decompressing the file and copying the Affably_Evil directory to the ~add-ons directory.
It'll work the same as it would in 1.16 (meaning not perfectly). There are 2 bugs (same as running it in 1.16), but you can find the fixes in this thread:
1. Add
Code: Select all
[/unit_type] 2. In ~add-ons/Affably_Evil/units/Fowleri_batshit.cfg change
Code: Select all

ok, fair enough, I might give it a shot.
