Further info: When computer goes to sleep while Wesnoth active, cooling fan comes on, which indicates to me that sometime recursive might be going on, but what do I know?

Forum threads can't be either opened or closed - those statuses are for github issues.

While it sounds like there's some issue going on for you, it's unlikely to be related to the issue linked in the other thread. It's also unlikely to be anything recursive.

Whatever the issue or cause thereof, the fact remains that it's still an issue. I often notice this when I've left the computer (with Wesnoth running) and it went to sleep. Cooling fan is running when I return and machine is hot. Never an issue if Wesnoth isn't open.

Then please stop telling us it's the same as an existing issue when it's clearly something different and instead open an issue for it on Github that provides relevant information.

Did you report a spam post in that thread? (i.e., you clicked the "!" button to notify the moderators?)

That's what the word "report" means in phpBB. "Report closed" just means that the moderator has seen the report and taken any necessary action (presumably by deleting the spam post and possibly the user who posted it). It has nothing to do with the thread/topic itself.
