Transfer Units in Multiplayer?

Post by nebciii »

Me and my brother are playing coop and we'd like to transfer units between two armies. Is there any way to do so?
We are playing on steam, whatever is the latest version and we are doing the elf campaign.
I just want to control the healers on my turn instead of coordinating with him to place them on his turn.

This is not a feature implemented in the campaign as far as I am aware, but there are some options.
There may be a mod on the add-on server that enables this.
If you are playing hotseat/local game, you can use debug mode to change unit side: type ":debug", then right-click unit and choose "Change Side", then type ":nodebug".
Debug is disabled for network games, even when you are hosting. Work-around which I suppose is possible, but I have not tested: Load your network save as a single-player or hotseat game, use debug mode and save, then load the new save as a network game again.

Finally, there is save-file editing. It's not convenient, but I will explain anyway in case anyone is curious.
How to save-file edit:
