since daishan beat elves on wood in first round, daishan seem strong, and also kthon with their vetcor ability

True Vikings vs Harpies

Very sadly , my two most favorites remaining factions are fighting each other.... but I predict vikings winning this one, as far I know Ghype created them with crazy cost efficiency and high dmgs and in overall superior movement costs. While not owning a scouting unit at all, their entire army has pretty HIGH stats that they had to get nerfs in ageless (well, at least just a bit...)


Also I think it was not coinsidence that knalga lost in time that map got bigger and bigger, so knalga had less chances to win this final rounds, as for example some factions scales much more terribly at larger maps (in default, UNDEAD and LOY are the most affected by bigger maps, while DRAKES, KNALGA does better in randomly generated maps that are bigger... but not that great in comparations with factions that are more mobile).


By the way, are you considering doing balancing changes based in the results of this torney?

I think to increase gold require to spawn units for winning sides (depends of to which round they survived/won). Right now are fighting Heavenly Kinghts vs Daishan. These second (Daishan) has crazy druid with berserk on ranged. Maybe some new units but this require new sprites with which its hard now to find something well done.

I totally agree, new eras with RASONABLY good sprites are very rare in 1.18 servers. Even I avoid adding some factions to ageless because just because how sad some sprites in specific factions or using default sprites...


Also ranged berserk in lv1 is probably among the most broken things, because a lv1 with that can delete any lv3-lv4 without a ranged attack.... similar that how STRONG is CHARGE on ranged, because it's basically x2 free damages against opponents with no ranged. That's even more strong/OP than the secret damage type in ageless that just deals 100% damage to almost all units (ignoring both resistances or weaknesses) because at least this hacks damage type pushes down some very strong units that relies on very high resistances but very low HP that are so meta in specific game modes ... but zerking or charge ranged basically hardcounters units that are much stronger than the unit itself.

I was viewing the gremling faction, they basically all have teleporting skill without increased costs... and the blade melee attacker that is 4-6 is alr 24 blade melee damage than has teleporting skill for just only 15g , an unit that can easily be worth around 18g (teleport can be very strong in the right map, and it scales better the bigger a map is) ... Not impressed they did reach this far.

I think that because of Gremlins teleport ability it takes really long for ai to think how to move units. Last time their fought over 8h on the map with 73 hexes. Now they are fighting with Harpies and I hope Harpies gonna win with them. Finals will be also on the bigger map than previous one. Harpies has a chance to be in top 3 fractions from 181 of WOTG.

Gremlins are winning with Harpies which means another two so damn long games, Gremlins vs Daishan and Gremlins vs Jinns. I dont know yet how to do final. Should I do 3 games 1 vs 1 or one game 1 vs 1 vs 1? What do you think guys? Whats sure is that I'll prepare bigger map (93 hexes) with 7 lands but should it be for 2 players or for 3?

If 3 finalists, make them fight 1vs1 against the other two, and viewing if one wins twice or losses twice or win one team each, that could bring interesting feedbacks

Particularly Gremling hacker, Gremling Acolyte and Gremling Harbinger are very underpriced in their lv1 the most. Harbinger would also be very strong even if only 6-2 fire ranged on its lv1 , but there is severe to big underprice in lv2 and lv3 gremlings also
