What would you like the most to see in a campaign.
I'm making a campaign and I would like to know the people opinion. It's a terror campaign, with dracula, vampires, werewolves, zombies, mummies, ghosts, gargoyles, bats, witches, the swamp monster (
), and other stuff (feel free to suggest anything).
I'm almost finishing Dracula's attacks right now, I'll post here later. But I would like to know wich campaign you would most like to see/play.
A campaign about the original Dracula's history, starting when he was human, go fight the turks on romenia, loses his dear love, and turns into a vampire. And of course, incremented with a lot of other stuff, like the ones above, but nothing that runs away from the main history a lot, like Van Helsing (the movie), I aways misplace him with Han Kelsing (loyer joke). Things that are too far away from this original history will be removed. But of course, this will be MY version of this history.
Or a fantasy campaign, full of monsters, with a terror history created by me. That I'm sure will make you piss in your pants of fear MUHAUAHUAHAUHAUA (evil laughter). And of course, Dracula will also be in it. As neither ally or foe, just someone that shows up some times to try to mess with the main hero head (dracula is the king of darkness, and the hero wants also to become the king of darkness, not necessarialy having to overthrow dracula, that's why they are nor enemies or allies). Oh, and that's right, the main hero is a lunatic. But not the kind of lunatic that says "hahah lets kill them all" like a psycotic, he is the kind of lunatic who does not know what is real or not, and have a constant strugle inside of him with a "demon" (not literally) that want's to take over his body.

Though you appear to have plenty of time for Wesnoth, I'll say to you what others said to me early on:
Start small.
It's much easier to come up with a short (~7 scenarios) campaign than it is to start with a behemoth. Even a short campaign like the South Guard takes a really long time to do well.

If you want to use the Headless Horseman/Corpse idea, http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5209, I'm willing to help where I can with the code. That said, I know next to nothing about WML, and I haven't actually got the time to work with it until late May.

Quality is what's key, not quantity. It takes more time and effort to do 7 scenarios well, then it does to crank out 14 bad scenarios. If done well, dracula could be interesting, but I'd rather you create your own story than try to copy one so famous. Maybe if the protagonist was a vampire? (but not the Dracula) We need more good undead campaigns.aelius wrote:Though you appear to have plenty of time for Wesnoth, I'll say to you what others said to me early on:

Lycaon was a mythological figure, not a god; but the relevance is that he got turned into a wolf. Lycaon at WikipediaMonkey wrote:The protagonist is a werewolf called Lycaon (ring any bells?) wich I'm doing now.
Edit: Lycaon was a greek god, but now I realize that's the english name for an animal
Anyway, a lycanthrope is an English synonym for werewolf, and "lycaon" appears in the scientific classification of many wolves and dogs. Lycaon isn't in the (English) common name of any animal, but it possibly is in Greek.
Lycaon is a wholly appropriate name for a werewolf; he was the ORIGINAL werewolf.
