Saurian Coast
Saurian Coast is pre-Haldric era hybrid saurian campaign. Join Skaz and Skanix to defend Saurian Coast, stole elf treasury and make alliance with nagas. Special features are leading many sides that take part of unique set of scenarios and trade with dwarves in scenario 8. In many scenarios the objective is moving units somewhere instead of just kill enemy leaders.
Saurian Coast is playable both single player and multiplayer. Completed but yet unbalanced. If you find any scenario being too hard or easy for difficulty level, feel free to tell it here. I will try to balance campaign according to feedback that I gain here.
I am not native English speaker, so language in campaign may be clumsy. If there is anything hard to understand or mistakes, feel free to tell it here. In this case, please tell right way too, so I can fix language.
This is my first campaign so I hope that you will enjoy playing it.

Re: Saurian Coast
Right now, I am on vacation.
But if I am back, I'll tackle your campaign.
Saurians have a special place in my heart.
I'll give my best to give you good feedback.

Re: Saurian Coast
Do you mean the pre-Haldric era?
I think you mean Haldric the guy who killed the dragon.
The guy from The Rise of Wesnoth.
I found some things in the description of your campaign.
Sometimes Skaz is written small the other time with a capital letter Skaz.
Should be always with a capital letter Skaz.
It is defend and not defen.
I believe Saurian Coast should be written with capital letters.
And other things I marked on the image.
It is The Rise of Wesnoth and Legend of Wesmere.

Re: Saurian Coast
I fixed all mistakes mentioned above in new release. Thanks for help!
Re: Saurian Coast
I'll start soon playing your campaign.
(Tomorrow or maybe tonight)
Another hint, what I am using for my campaign.
1. I am using Notepad++ for modifying my files. Here you can download a "plug in" that spell checks for you.
For example scenario 01 hunders -> hunters
2. You can ask ChatGPT for help.
I always ask him to correct my sentences or ask him to check my english. I feel it helps. But if you are against AI, that's also fine.

Re: Saurian Coast
Now that I am reading this again.
Or you mean something different.
Having unique leaders with unique recruit lists and they aren't available in all scenarios.
Only Skaz is available in all scenarios.
Unique list of what? I guess they are having a Unique list of recruits.Or you mean something different.

Re: Saurian Coast
I released new version that has clearer objective in scenario 1.
Re: Saurian Coast
New version 1.1.0 is now released on add-on server. In 1.1.0 is better English and player give useful hints during the campaign. Cave maps is too fixed. I hope that this version is more fun to play.
Re: Saurian Coast
I might be annoying, but your descriptions still has haldrig. I think you mean Haldric.

Re: Saurian Coast
Hello juhhyv,
I played you campaign via debug menu, so I can get a bigger picture of it.
For now I only played the first scenario and debugged the rest, cause I didn't want to play 3 sides on a giant map in the second scenario, sorry
Your campaign is labelled as easy, maybe make the second map a lot smaller and use only three sides at a whole, like the top 3.
1 elf, 1 saurian (player) and 1 another saurian.
Additionally you can add a option that the player doesn't play the other saurian tribe. I have a code for that in my campaign, if you want to use it.
The code is only asking, if the player wants to play the ally, if yes, he'll gain controll, if not, the ally gets a little gold boost.
I guess that will help a weak player a lot more.
Now to my overall feedback, I hope I can make it understand able. Please don't get demotiviated by my feedback.
If you don't like my suggestions, you dont have to use them. It is your campaign afterall.

- Maps need a rework. You see a lot of the same terrain over an over again. Especially if I compare your maps with the elvish treasury, it is a big contrast.
- I believe the sides have to much gold overall. In one map the trolls had 700 gold. That is Northern Rebirth level of gold. I have nightmares of that campaign and I really disliked it. I don't like grinding in an easy campaign. (my opinion)
- The trade scenario is interesting, sadly I didn't really know what I should do there. I think [label] can help to direct the player a bit, if the shops are stationary. If a saurian gets an item, you can make a overlay, so that it is visible that the saurian has a buff (for that you can look into eastern invasion)
- The Naga are interesting allies, cause they are good at sea and land. Why is the naga guard missing in their recruit list?
- It is quite interesting, that we always have two saurians working together, is this campaign planned as a MP Campaign? If not, I think a singular side can work too. (Only my opinion, I don't like playing different sides. I like it if every side has special units, like Naga)
- English needs work, but that you know.
- I got some ideas for the first scenario, it seems that you tried to let the animals spawn randomly. Here I can suggestion campaigns of mechanical. He lets creepers spawn randomly on the map. I also think you can change the AI like that, that they are roaming around (https://wiki.wesnoth.org/Micro_Ais#Anim ... animals.29).
- The tunnel scenarios are giving me headaches too. I have to fight a lot of trolls and there isn't much space. I'll suggest tunnels with large fighting areas.
If you don't like my suggestions, you dont have to use them. It is your campaign afterall.

I have done some changes to second tunnel scenario map. But if all map need rework, it will take lots of time. I am not good mapmaker too but I will at least add more diversity in terrains and rework tunnel maps. I don't planned that player can defeat trolls, just mine iron in tunnels that trolls have not move as fast as player (expect first troll who can be attacked by two sides).Maps need rework
Scenarios 3 and 5 are inside Wesmere forest so in maps are forest. Should maps make different way?
Refumee wrote:
This is new, I try to lower level of gold of all sides. Mostly enemies have so much gold because they recruit level two units (which is expensive). Trolls have so much gold because they battle single against three sides. But I try to lower level of gold in all sides along the campaign. In scenarios 3 and 5 maybe I will delete enemy side instead.I believe the sides have to much gold overall. In one map the trolls had 700 gold.

Good to hear, that you like idea of trade. I will add [label] to help player to go right place. Maybe marketplace would be good there. (Yes, shops are stationary)The trade scenario is interesting, sadly I didn't really know what I should do there. I think label can help

Skaz has some solo scenarios, but Skanix take part many too. The original idea behind this was keep different recruit list in scenarios. I will not soon decline Skanix role, but I think it later, if this cause more problems. It is quite interesting, that we always have two saurians working together

Rats would good to become randomly, but I have other way to find it too (in version 1.1.0 it is more clear to player). Chance AI to forest animals can be good to rats. Scorpions will continue act current form.I got some ideas to first scenario

Re: Saurian Coast
I can suggest you some campaigns if you wanna steal some maps. Steal them and then adjust them of course
An Orcish Incursion is a campaign that plays around Wesmere. Maybe you can steal forest maps there
For the Naga Map, you can look into the Heir of the Throne, Bay of Pearls, was the map I think. That should correlate with your position in the Map.
The entrance of the tunnel, where the saurians are, should be similar to the map in The Secret of the Ancients. Following the shadow.
The Saurian coast is a cool concept.
You can make for S02 a smaller map
And for the last fight the big map. That would be nice.
Your explanations help me to understand your way of thinking
I can also suggest you saurian campaigns of you want.
Here you can check out the ideas of other authors
