Northern Rebirth fan campaign: Tears of Knalga (ToK)
I would like to start of by stating I am not part of any sort of 'rework fever', this has been in the works for a year and a half now (obviously with a lot of breaks and restarts) Now that that is out of the way, I can start:
Section 1 - Prologue:
This story starts in the year 441, in which the Knalgan Alliance was first formed. First it was but an alliance of the human tribes such as the Berbin, Nothdaw and most notably, the Knalgans. However, after the Dwarves emerged from underground they too joined the alliance. Each tribe and clan offered it's own resources, with the humans trading food and wood for precious stones and metals. As the alliance grew prosperous, more and more tried to join. Soon, much of the north had joined, including the north elves and even some humans from the south. Mysteriously, the Berbin and Nothdaw left. However, this was soon forgotten when the orcs had arrived, most notably the Redshank tribe. These orcs brought many good and gifts, soon overcoming the humans, dwarves and elves initial doubts about them (they had heard much from tales, none of it too kind). However, the orcs took a special likening to the Knalgan humans. This had made the dwarves jealous -or so they thought- and revolution soon brewed. These were dark days for the Knalgan alliance as many of the dwarven clans had left due to the alliance not being as prosperous. The elves who were still distrustful of the orcs, had left as soon as there was hear of a revolution. The orcs allied with the Knalga, not on the battlefield, but more so by funding. Soon the dwarves were driven back to their caves. The Knalga were victorious. At this time, a blacksmith named Tallin III was one of the main leaders. He was a strong, likeable character, soon elected as the new Lord Protectpo of the Knalgorco alliance (as the new name was). Though this was remembered as a golden age for the north, it was easily much worse than before. Crops failed and they was much poverty. Society had also collapsed, with people paranoid and scared and morale at a low. It was at this time the orcs made their true intentions known. They organised 'blood parties' in which they would help the men into the mines to finish of the dwarves; in return the Knalgans would give a share of their crops. At this time, Tallin III had grown senile and foolish. He quickly accepted the terms without asking his people, and they went down to the mines, along with a young Orcish General called Shuuga'Mool. It was only he, the orc, who returned. This happened 5 more times, first with the strong archer - Knefar'Telfar, then the feisty goblin, Gornmak. It was only on the last one that the orcs gave their game away. The orc who went down this time was a foolish young orc named Rak'Shen, and he came up, sobbing like the rest. This time, to show clearly that it was the dwarves who had killed the men, he brought up a corpse. He made a fatal mistake, however, for the wound on the man was neither that of axe, spear, thunderstick or hammer. It was one of an orcish blade. The humans soon rebelled when they realised it, but it was much too late. The first general, Shuuga'Mool, seized power become the first Slavedriver of the Dwarven Doors. He put the foolish young orc, Rak'Shen, to death. This is where our story begins.
This stuff is in chronological order, though it is not revealed as such on the story. I will write more soon, but I hope you guys like it so far. Feel free to suggest things, you will be put in credits and your change will be made (as long as I and others like it).
