I don't think there's any point in the custom sprite either, but if someone wants to make it and it's good then I'll welcome it. (I'm not passing judgement on whether your sample is good.)
What I made is very bad. It was just a very quick and rushed change to an already-existing sprite. However I would personally like a custom sprite with a custom portrait. I think such a sprite should probably start from scratch to show better variety instead of a slightly modified human corpse that is barely noticeable as an orc. However, I still think its slightly better to at least make a few small modifciations than to leave it identical if a portrait were to be made. An identical sprite may also look unfinished and very strange with a separate portrait.

Wolfman from classic horror movies could be good inspiration

Straff wrote: July 29th, 2024, 4:11 pm I would vote for Holypaladin’s proposal, though portraits are important, but not in this case. How often have you seen a wolf zombie talk? It’s such a rare case, I would make an exception. Please move those great sprites from SotA to the core.
Walking Corpses rarely talk, so a zombie wolf protrait can be used temporarily, but I think a new variation should have a new portrait.
I think they can temporarily use corpse wolf portait or for now don't use portait at all. Corpses almost don't talk anywhere so it won't be a problem to add them and prepare the needed portait later.

I would support adding them to core temporarily using the zombie wolf portrait, but only if there are clears plans to add a portrait later in the development cycle. A new corpse variant should have a new portrait with it eventually.

Please add them, a portrait is in this special case (zombie-wolves do almost never talk) not that important. So please add the sprites.

@Straff The sprites aren’t that important either though. A wolf corpse is probably good enough for now. Adding an incomplete product for such a small gap feels like a bad idea that will make the game feel more incomplete, not less. I personally support mainlining it, but I think we should get a portrait for it by the next stable release if it is mainlined, and hopefully as soon as the unit mainlined. Ultimately, I think this should be up to doofus-01 to decide.
