Friends cant choose color or see leader info on multiplayer

Title. I create a game on the official servers, my friends proceed to get in and for some reason they cant pick their color or check the leader info when choosing him, the 'i" button is greyed out for them.. Any idea what is going on?

I'm not sure whether u understand your problem, but maybe your friends use and outdated wesnoth version? You can type /q version <player name> so see which version they are using

Depending on what scenario is being played, it may be intentional that colors and leaders aren't choosable.

We are all using the steam version and about the scenario.. That may be it, I downloaded a couple multiplayer maps to fight with them and maybe those are mad in a way that only the admin of the game can change their color.. Which would be weird but its a possibility.. Btw, its not that they cant choose leader, they can, but even after choosing leader they cant go into the information screen, the button is dark for them and unclickable
