It wasn't obvious to me that I was sitting on a castle and that a Dragon would have recruits, so I played a few times without recruiting. I almost beat it a couple times without recruiting but not quite. Once I figured out I could recruit, it took one false start to get the feel using my newly found cannon fodder.

I don't think any.

(7) Comments about the scenario or replay, but that's very optional.
Fun little opener. Maybe add something in the opening dialog hinting at recruiting bats.
